New pastor named at Christ Church

&emsp;&emsp;Rev. Craig Gyergyo has been named senior pastor of Christ Church at Grove Farm in Ohio Township. He started Nov. 10, shepherding a large congregation on its faith journey.&emsp;&emsp;A Southwestern Pennsylvania native, Gyergyo and his family are relocating from Memphis, TN, where he served as executive director of Bible Museum on the Square. In his 25-year career, Gyergyo has worked as an associate pastor, children's ministries director and elementary education teacher.&emsp;&emsp;Gyergyo's selection followed a national, nine- month search by Vanderbloemen Search Group, a national church staffing company. The Christ Church Parish Council evaluated many candidates before nominating Gyergyo. Church members affirmed him on Oct. 27.&emsp;&emsp;Brian Toy, council executive chairman, stated, "We look forward with anticipation for what Gyergyo is going to do at Grove Farm in the coming decades." Toy added, "Craig joined a tremendous staff of devoted ministry leaders," who will support and assist him as he transitions into his new position. Rev. Dr. John Guest, who served as senior pastor as the church searched for a new leader, will remain on staff for a time to mentor Gyergyo.&emsp;&emsp;Gyergyo, who grew up in North Braddock, received his bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Grove City College in 1996. His wife of 19 years, Lisa, graduated from Grove City in 2001. They have three daughters.&emsp;&emsp;Gyergyo began his career as a second grade teacher for the Mercer Area School District, teaching from 1996-2007.&emsp;&emsp;Christ Church at Grove Farm, off Mt. Nebo Road at 249 Duff Rd. in Ohio Township, is a non-denominational church with roots in the Anglican tradition. It offers a blended/traditional worship service at 9 a.m. and a modern service at 11:15 a.m.
