Rosemary Heflin Rosemary Heflin, 77, of Bellevue, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009. Mrs. Heflin was a local politician serving as a Bellevue Council member and mayor. She is survived by her husband, Jack F. Heflin; six children, Kathy Conlon and her husband Tom of Tampa, FL, Roberta J. Conway and her husband Michael of Bellevue, Judith Glinski of Moon Township, Laura Ann Kozlowski of West View, Jack F. Heflin Jr. of Bellevue and David E. Heflin and his wife Jennifer of Emsworth; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandchild. Friends were received at McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, Avalon. Services and burial were private.James English James A. English, 73, of Bellevue, formerly of Carrick and husband of the late Berenice Felix English, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009. He is survived by four children, Jim English and his wife Lisa, Bob English and his wife Stephanie, Debbie Brown and her husband Bob and Dave English and his wife Tammy; his brother, Bill English; 10 grandchildren, Jen and her husband Jeff, Sharon, Bobby, Steven, Laura, Sammy, David, Michael, Josh and Kayleigh; a great-grandchild, Eliana; and a dear friend, Roy Bagley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Catherine English; and two brothers, Bob and Tom English. Friends were received at Boron Funeral Home, where services were held on Monday.Benedict Houy Jr. Benedict L. Houy Jr. of Bellevue died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009. Mr. Houy was a member and usher at the Church of the Assumption for more than 50 years. He had worked for Polar Water and was a member of Teamsters Local #249 and also a member of Knights of Columbus, Bellevue Council #1400. He is survived by his wife, Alice Leicher Houy; his son, Richard A. Houy and his wife Maureen; his sister, Agnes M. Mack; and nieces and nephews. Burial was in Allegheny Cemetery.Mary Ann Thompson Mary Ann Zinsmaster Thompson, 71, of Flowery Branch, GA, formerly of Avalon and wife of the late Robert J. Thompson, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009. Mrs. Thompson was a 1965 graduate of Avalon High School. He was a former bank teller at Union National Bank in Pittsburgh and had worked for Estes Lauder in Melville, NY. She was a member of the Golden Gators Club and enjoyed exercising at George Pierce Park Community Center in Suwanee, GA. As a member of Prince of Peace Church in Flowery Branch, she served as an Eucharistic Minister. He also enjoyed gardening, reading and animals, especially her cat, Sammy. She is survived by four children, Liz Hauser and her husband Mike of Suwanee, Carolyn Fey of Shirley, NY, James Thompson and his wife Karen of West Babylon, NY and Michael Thompson and his wife Cindy of Ronkonkoma, NY; four siblings, Jane Liberi and her husband Larry Kresen of Canton, MI, Florence Nesaw and her husband Doug of Sewickley, James Zinsmaster and his wife Dianne of Evans City and Raymond Zinsmaster and his wife Linda of Castle Rock, CO; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Braden served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in France as a 1st Lieutenant during World War II. He was co-founder of Braden and McSweeny, Inc. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Barrett Braden; three children, Sandra Rodabaugh and her husband Bruce, Barbara Guffey and Laird Braden; his sister, Marjorie Jane Miller and her husband James; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Bales, Ryan Bales, Kristain Lindquist and Will Guffey; and a niece and three nephews. Mr. Staudenmaier was a World War II veteran and a Pittsburgh Police Dept. detective for 25 years. After his retirement, he worked as security manager for Sears. He was a member of the F.O.P., Fort Pitt Lodge #1. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing. He was survived by his wife, Clara E. Morrow Staudenmaier; his son, Roy Staudenmaier and his wife Dorothy of Littleton, CO; his brother, Bruce Staudenmaier of Bellevue; two grandchildren, Tara Fitzgerald of Conifer, CO and Robin Carscallen of Golden, CO; and five great-grandchildren, Aaron, Kyle and Cameron Fitzgerald of Conifer and Ashlyn and Evan Carscallen of Golden. She is survived by her son, Roy Staudenmaier and his wife Dorothy of Littleton, CO; two granddaughters, Tara Fitzgerald of Conifer, CO and Robin Carscallen of Golden, CO; and five grandchildren, Aaron, Kyle and Cameron Fitzgerald of Conifer and Ashlyn and Evan Carscallen of Golden. Mr. Klobucar was past president of Brighton Heights Citizens Federation and was active in community service. He worked with the Western PA Conservancy to beautify flower gardens in the community. He enjoyed organizing the annual Halloween parade and was a member of Javor Hall Croatian Club. He held season tickets since 1967 to the Pittsburgh Penguins games, and was retired from the PA U.S. Army National Guard. He is survived by his daughter, Danielle Steeley and her husband James G. of Greensburg, PA; and triplet grandchildren, Nolan, Brennan and Olivia. Mr. Bartus was a retired printer from Bankers Lithographics in Blawnox. He was a member of St. Patrick Church, Noblestown, the Holy Name Society and Meals On Wheels in Oakdale. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He is survived by six children, Charles E. Bartus and his wife Andrea of Ross Township, William D. Bartus and his wife Sandy of Oakdale, David R. Bartus and his wife Lisa of Ben Avon, Loretta E. Hennemuth and her husband Paul of Oakdale, Gregory M. Bartus and his wife Carol of Warrenville, IL and Mark S. Bartus and his wife Cindy of Moon Township; 13 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
