Verna Gray Verna R. Gray, 94, of Avalon, wife of the late Lester F. Gray, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010. She is survived by two sons, Albert J. Gray and his wife Joann of Ohio Township and David R. Gray of Melbourne, FL; two siblings, Helen Guiser and Bill Euston; her grandson, Matthew D. Gray; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Meals. Friend were received at the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon. A funeral service was held in the chapel of Allegheny County Memorial Park on Monday. Schuler, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010. Mrs. Schuler was a member of Norwood Herrington Chapter #356 Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by two children, Janet Hartley of Ross and James L. Schuler II and his wife Carol of McCandless; her sister, Marie Hartman; four grandchildren, Terilyn Brennan and her husband John, Terry Hartley and his wife Patricia, Laraine Milkey and her husband Chris and Doug Hartley and his wife Dana; seven great-grandchildren, John, Jacqueline and Jeffrey Brennan, Jennifer and Zachory Milkey, Tori and Megan Hartley; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Laraine F. Schuler. Services and burial were private. Memorial contributions are suggested to a favorite charity. Borgese died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Anna Sanguigni Borgese; two children, Lisa Ford and her husband Douglas and Armand Borgese and his wife Donna; his brother, Anthony Borgese; and three grandchildren, Domenic, Nicholas and Giavonna Borgese. Mr. McFarland served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Africa and Italy. He had been a draftsman at Bethlehem Steel, where he retired after 36 years. He is survived by two sons, Terry McFarland and his wife Pamela of Lake Toxaway, NC and Edward McFarland and his wife Cheryl of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren, Sarah, Patrick and his wife Patricia, Shannon and her husband Brock, Erin, Katherine and Ryan; and two great-grandchildren, Meghan and Gabriel. He was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas and Patrick McFarland; his parents, George L. and Margaret Ann Anderson McFarland; and six siblings, John R. McFarland, Paul L. McFarland, Josephine Good, Helen King, Florence Good and Ruth Wareham. Friends were invited to a memorial service at Holy Sacrament Cemetery in Greensburg on Saturday. Ms. Yount was an Oliver High School graduate. She was retired from US Steel, where she worked as a secretary. She had volunteered for Meals On Wheels and Animal Friends. She is survived by dear friends, Hugh ad Eileen Boyle. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Edwin and Lena Shaffer Yount; and three siblings, Merle Ray Yount, John Winfield Yount and Fannie Jane Yount. Friends were received at the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon. A funeral service was held in First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tom Hall officiating. Burial was in Oakmont-Verona Cemetery.
