Avonworth names asst. superintendent

&emsp;&emsp;Avonworth names asst. superintendentThe Avonworth School Board unanimously approved the appointment of Dr. Jillian Bichsel as the district's new assistant superintendent during Monday's regular monthly board meeting. &emsp;&emsp;Bichsel will join newly appointed superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Hadley on Dec. 1. Hadley took over as superintendent for Dr. Thomas Ralston, who left the district for a position with the University of Pittsburgh this past summer. &emsp;&emsp;Bichsel is currently the Director of Curriculum, Assessment, and Professional Development for North Allegheny School District, a position held since 2014. &emsp;&emsp;"I am super excited to come to Avonworth," said Bichsel, following her appointment on Monday. "I look forward to getting started right away with Dr. Hadley and the rest of the district and its students."&emsp;&emsp;Hadley expressed similar enthusiasm for Bichsel's appointment. &emsp;&emsp;"We are going to make a great team working together," Hadley said. "[Bichsel] is very qualified and I know we will be able to accomplish a lot for the district."
