Middle school principal is hired

The Avonworth School Board has hired Michael Hall as the new middle school principal. Hall replaces Thomas Ralston, who now serves as the superintendent of the school district."I am ecstatic to welcome Mr. Michael Hall as the new principal of Avonworth Middle School. Over the last several months an extensive search and interview process was conducted involving representation from our entire school community. Mr. Hall has exemplified the qualities and characteristics that we value as a school district," said Ralston.Hall comes to Avonworth from Canon McMillan High School, where he served as the assistant principal for three years. His work history includes teaching fourth grade with the Canon McMillan District (2006-09) and also working as a fourth grade teacher at Propel Charter (2005-06). Hall also worked as a seventh grade English teacher with Colonial Beach Public Schools in Virginia (2000-05). "I'm thrilled to join the Avonworth School District. I've heard nothing but wonderful things about the community, students, administration, teachers, and staff. Avonworth already has a tremendous reputation for providing a top-notch education and I look forward to getting to know my new work family and leading them into tackling the challenges the future may bring," said Hall.Hall holds a master of arts degree in education administration from California University of Pennsylvania, and a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education from Marietta College."Mr. Hall's unique skill set will ensure that our middle school continues on a trajectory of success as a developmentally responsive program that supports and challenges our students," said Ralston.Hall resides in Eighty Four, PA with his wife Dena and their three children.
