Claudia Veder Claudia Veder, 93, of Emsworth, wife of the late Charles Veder, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012. Mrs. Veder was a 1937 graduate of Oliver High School, where she had been valedictorian. She was a volunteer at Sacred Heart Church in Emsworth and at Suburban General Hospital. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. She is survived by two children, Terence R. Veder and Cynthia Veder Schuetz and her husband James; two grandchildren, Derek and Lauren Schuetz; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Elsie Hamill; and seven siblings, Sis, Claire, Virginia, Frances, Walter, Edward and Lawrence. Friends were received at O'Brien Funeral Home, North Side. A funeral mass was held in Sacred Heart Church on Friday.Ellen Shaulis Ellen L. Shaulis, 91, of Ben Avon, formerly of Frieden, PA and wife of the late Warren J. Shaulis, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012. Mrs. Shaulis was a 1938 graduate of Stoystown High School. She was retired from Somerset State Hospital. She is survived by her son, Richard Shaulis and his wife Denise of Ben Avon; two sisters, Mildred Fyock of Windber, PA and Sarah Heinrich of Stoystown, PA; five grandchildren, Nathan Shaulis, Samantha Laffey, Jon Shaulis and his wife Jamie, Alana Elstner and her husband Justin and Brianne Shaulis and her husband Michael Kristufek; and a great-granddaughter, Abigail Rose Shaulis. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lizzy Manges Blough; and four siblings, Noah Blough, Verda Hause, Helen Benson and Julia Mosley. Friends were received at Deaner Funeral Home in Stoystown where services were held on Saturday with Rev. Walter L. Starzel officiating. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown. Mr. Deringer was an Avonworth High School graduate.
