Nancy Brooks Nancy Jean Brooks, 76, of Kilbuck Township, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013. Mrs. Brooks was a summa cum laude graduate of Duquesne University. She was an administrator and educator at Eden Christian Academy for 15 years. She is survived by her husband, M. Richard Brooks; two sons, Richard L. Brooks and his wife Donna and Ronald Charles Brooks and his wife Lynda; five siblings, Virginia Held, Karen Miller, Kathryn Nordorff, Jim and John Kirch; and three grandchildren, Richard L. II, Dayna J. and David Brooks. Friends were received at the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon, until the time of services on Saturday. Burial was private.Daniel Emerick Jr. Daniel C. Emerick Jr., 57, of West View, formerly of Bellevue, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013. Mr. Emerick was a 1974 graduate of Bellevue High School and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. He was a teacher at the Western PA School for the Deaf for 34 years. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Pfister Emerick; his daughter, Shannon L. Emerick; his brother-in-law, Jack Pfister and his wife Connie; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel C. Emerick Sr. and Eleanor Davis Emerick. Friends were received at T.B. Devlin Funeral Home, North Hills. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in the Church of the Assumption on Monday. Contributions are suggested to Western PA School for the Deaf, 300 Swissvale Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15218, or University of Pittsburgh Athletics, Panther Club.Sally Bado Sally Schreiver Bado, 84, of Houston, TX, formerly of Bellevue and wife of the late George Walter Bado, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013. Mrs. Bado was a 1946 graduate of Bellevue High School. She attended Bethany College in West Virginia and was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She was editor of the school newspaper and a charter member of the school's Kalon Leadership Sociey. After graduation, she worked as copywriter for Gimbel's department store. She earned a master's degree in education at the University of Pittsburgh. She taught English at Bellevue/Northgate High School until her retirement in 1993. She also sponsored the school newspaper, handled the school district's public relations and sponsored the Cum Laude Society. She enjoyed playing duplicate bridge, traveling, hosting parties and swimming. She is survived by four children, Ken Bado of San Francisco, CA, Richard Bado of Houston, Mark Bado and his wife Wendy of Kansas City, MO and Angie Bado of Dallas, TX; and six grandchildren, Matthew, Megan, Colin, Kirkpatrick, Chandler and Alexandria. Rodgers, 83, of Bellevue, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013. Mr. Rodgers owned and operated Rodgers Insurance Agency in Bellevue for 50 years. He was a longtime member of the Church of the Assumption and its ushers ministry for 37 years. He also was a member of the Condor Aero Club. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Dukaich Rodgers; seven children, Michael E. Rodgers of Houston, TX, Thomas S. Rodgers of Pittsburgh, Robert F. Rodgers of Cranberry, Susan Marie Hughes of Naples, FL, Diane E. Boyce of Cranberry, Donald G. Rodgers of Bellevue and Marie M. Damian of Bellevue; two siblings, Richard Rodgers of McCandless Township and Marian Saffer of Philadelphia, PA; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clement and Marie Rodgers; and his brother, John "Bud" Rodgers. Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue. Sprague Ave., Bellevue, PA 15202.Donald Kolb Donald Albert Kolb, 81, of Marshall Township, formerly of Ross Township and husband of the late Joan D. Roehren Kolb, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013. Mr. Kolb was a 1948 graduate of West View High School. He was retired from Bell Telephone Co., now Verizon, and a member of the Quaill Volunteer Fire Dept., where he served as chief. He was a former Boy Scout leader. He is survived by three children, Kim Kolb and her husband Tom Jaenicke of Charlevoix, MI, Lynn Kolb and her companion Greg Roberts of Ross Township and Leslie Adam and her husband Paul of Wexford; five grandchildren, Sara and Billy Scherer, Brian and Drew Adam and Tammy Roehm and her husband Chris; two great-grandchildren, Cam and Allie Roehm; and dear friend, LaRaine Bahle of Shaler. He was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Narsico.
