Edgar Steinmark Edgar George Steinmark, 88, of Providence Point, South Hills, formerly of Bellevue, Wallingford, PA, Upper St. Clair, Wilmington, DE and Bath, OH, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013 in Family Hospice and Palliative Care. Mr. Steinmark was a Bellevue High School graduate. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, having served during World War II as an officer. He earned a B.S. degree in chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh and worked at Pennsylvania Industrial Chemical Corp. (PICCO). He became district manager for Hercules, Inc. and retired in 1985. He enjoyed reading history and wintering in Hawaii, and he was a sports fan. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Wrenshall Steinmark; two children, Louise Machinist and Arthur Steinmark and his wife Karen Doughty; his sister, Alice Rightor; two grandchildren, Sarah Machinist and Charles Machinist; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Wrenshall and Doris Wrenshall; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Gruey Steinmark; and his parents, Arthur Nicholas and Ethel May Gruey Steinmark. Friends are invited to a celebration of life service in Bower Hill Community Church in Mt. He is survived by two sisters, Lina Russano and her husband Tony and Maria Settino; his brother-in-law, Carmen Manzonelli; and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Luisa Ferraro and Rita Manzonelli; and two brothers-in-law, Giuseppe Settino and Giovanni Ferraro. Friends were received at H.P. Brandt Funeral Home, Ross Township. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in the Church of the Assumption on Friday. Burial was in Mt. Royal Cemetery.Helen Blythe O'Dell Helen Blythe O'Dell, 77, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013 in UPMC Passavant Hospital after a long illness. A life-long resident of the North boroughs, she was the wife of the late Bud O' Dell to whom she was married for 44 years. She was the mother of Suzan O'Dell Etter (Glenn) of Sewickley, Pennsylvania, Kelly O'Dell Adams of Florida, David O'Dell (Erica) of Ohio Township, Dean O'Dell (Lisa) of Wexford, and the late Dennis and Cindy O'Dell. She leaves 12 grandchildren, three brothers and one sister. Service and interment were private. Arrange-ments were made by the Rex T. Smith funeral home.Sydney Baker Sydney A. Baker, 81, of Avalon, husband of the late Shirley Lipinski Baker, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013. Mr. Baker was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked on the riverboats in Pittsburgh and also for Kaufmann's department store. He is survived by two siblings, Betty Jean Murphy and Thomas Edward Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Acie and Elva Baker. There was no visitation and burial was private. Arrangements were made by Thomas M. Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, Blawnox.Jean Kleeger Jean G. Kleeger, 70, of Bellevue, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013. She was preceded in death by her brother, Carl Warlack. Mosberger, 83, of Ross Township, died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Marion Jacobs Mosberger; two children, Joseph Mosberger and his wife Kathy and Carol Bohn and her husband Glenn; his sister, Vira Doughton and her husband Lou; four grandchildren, Paul, Jennifer, Steven and Carl; seven great-grandchildren, Ethan, Kayla, Garrett, Drew, Julia, Mason and Brady; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, William Mosberger; and his brother, Robert Mosberger. Friends were received at McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, Avalon, until the time of services on Tuesday. Memorial contributions are suggested to Catholic Hospice, Inc. of Pittsburgh, 6300 Brooktree Rd., Wexford, PA 15090.Edward Copeland Jr. Edward Shedrick Copeland Jr., 90, of Avalon, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013. In 1948, he earned a diploma in photography from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, and in 1950 he earned a diploma in business administration from the Pittsburgh Academy. He enlisted in the United States Army in January of 1944 and was stationed in England, France and the Rhineland. He earned the Bronze Service Star, the Good Conduct Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the American Theater Service Ribbon and the European Theater Service Ribbon with two Battle Stars. He joined the Enlisted Reserve Corps in 1946 and served as a ship-fitter until 1949. He was a 25-year employee of the United States Postal service, retiring in 1988. He also was employed for many years at Sealtest Foods, Inc. and at Beverly Farms Dairies. He is survived by his wife, Mary Josephine Copeland; his sons, Edward, Kevon, Philip and his wife Yukari, Bryan and his wife Sharon, and Jody; four grandsons; and six granddaughters. Friends were received at Robinson Funeral Home, Perry Hilltop. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday at noon in New Hope Church, Brighton Heights. Burial will follow in Allegheny County Memorial Park.Melvin Wolfson Melvin Wolfson, 92, of Avalon, husband of the late Montra Wolfson, formerly of Manchester, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2013 in Arden Courts in North Hills. Mr. Wolfson was a graduate of Allegheny High School and active in many sports. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and achieved the rank of technical sergeant. He worked in the automobile business as general manager. He was an active member in the physical fitness program at CCAC North Side Campus. He is survived by his son, Michael Wolfson; nieces and nephews; the Wilstein families; and dear friend, Mayme Theodore. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Lottie Wolfson; and five brothers, Samuel, Fred and his wife Tiny, Jerome, Harvey and Paul Wolfson. Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue, where services were held on Friday. Burial was in Temple Sinai Memorial Park, Plum Borough. Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's Association.
