Fr. Thomas Ferris Fr. Thomas B. Ferris died Tuesday, March 18, 2014. Fr. Thomas had been assigned to St. James Parish, Sewickley, St. Paul Cathedral, Pittsburgh and had spent five years with the St. James Society in missions to South America, St. Joseph Parish, Coraopolis, St. Agatha Parish, Ellwood City, St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Finleyville, St. Patrick Parish, Canonsburg and St. Cyril of Alexandria Parish, Brighton Heights. He is survived by three siblings, E.J. Ferris and his wife Catherine, Mary A. Lamb and her husband Carl and Dennis O. Ferris and his wife Ilona of Reynoldsburg, OH; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward J. Sr. and Alice Dunbar Ferris. Friends were received at Little Sisters of the Poor, Brighton Heights. Translation with vespers was held in St. Cyril of Alexandria Church. A funeral mass was held in St. Cyril of Alexandria Church on Friday with the principal celebrant Bishop David Zubik. Burial was in Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery. Mrs. D'Amico was a 1946 Bellevue High School graduate. She worked at Gulf Oil Corp. After moving to California, she was active in both the Pasadena Presbyterian Church, where she was a secretary, and Westminster Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth, where she was a 50 year member. She is survived by her husband, John D'Amico; two sons, Scott of Fort Worth and Bria of Phoenix, AZ; her sister-in-law, Jean Shannon of Pittsburgh; her cousin, Tom Simcox of Brecksville, OH; two nephews, Jeff Shannon of Crawford, TX and Mark Shannon of Pittsburgh; and her niece, Jill Cooper of Mars, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Marguerite Shannon.Margaret Hunt Margaret Hunt, wife of the late John H. Hunt Sr., died Wednesday, March 12, 2014. She is survived by two children, John H. Alton, 81, of Bellevue died Saturday, March 15, 2014. Mr. Alton served in the U.S. Navy 1951-1955 and then joined the U.S. Air Force in 1957 and retired in 1973. He was a longtime member of the Episcopalian Church and a volunteer at Wexford house, Light of Life Ministry, "Living Room" Church Army, Sunday Shelter, North Hills Community Outreach and Metowers Bible Class. Susan was a dedicated volunteer and employee of Animal Friends. She cherished her time as a scorekeeper for husband Robert's softball league, friends' volleyball tournaments and was an avid fan of all Pittsburgh sport teams. Rusty was a long-time Bellevue resident before moving to Kane Regional Center on McIntyre Road. Though small of stature, he had a big heart, and was very active in his community and his church. He is survived by his cousins, George and Mary Schmidt, his special friends, Eleanor and Virginia Feerst, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his beloved aunt, Bellevue resident Helen Richards. Rusty was buried in New Hope Cemetery near Boyers, PA. About the Author
