Thomas R. Conway

Thomas R. Conway, 66, life-long resident of Bellevue, died due to complications of the flu and pneumonia, Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024. Tommy was the husband of Kathy (Ley). He was the son of Larry and the late Audrey; dad of Steven Conway, Richie (Amy) Detch, Julie (Eric) Weidanz, and Brian Detch; Pappy of Jameson, Tori & Dylan, Shane & Caden, and Alicia & Emily and a great-granddaughter, Madelyn; brother of Larry (Lynn), Michael (Roberta), Janet (the late Jeff) Killmeyer, Lynn (Patrick) Avery and Patty (Ted) Smith; brother-in-law of Colleen Ley and John (Tess) Ley; and the nephew of Wanda McAllister and Martha Kress. Tommy also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins across the country. Tommy worked in communications for over 45 years, installing and maintaining telephone systems including the original phone system at Heinz Field where he worked every PITT and Steeler football game from the first game played til the December 8 game. Tommy had strong faith and loved all his family. He enjoyed all things Irish, Iron City and being at Camp in Fombell. Everyone loved Tommy, the "telephone man" and his unique sense of humor.
