Mahan named All American

&emsp;&emsp;In addition to a number of other honors, Avonworth soccer star Fiona Mahan has been named to the national and regional teams named by the United States Soccer Coaches Association.&emsp;&emsp;Fiona was one of only four female soccer players from Pennsylvania named to the All-Region Team, and one of only three named an All-American.&emsp;&emsp;The Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association announced its girls all-state list as well, with 12 players from the WPIAL selected including Mahan.&emsp;&emsp;She and several teammates on the three-time WPIAL championship team also made the WPIAL Soccer Coaches Association girls soccer all-section teams.From Class 2A, Section 1, Avonworth players selected were: Fiona Mahan, Jr., Mid., Minah Syam, Sr., Mid, Gianna Babusci, Sr., For., Emma Luther, Sr., Mid., Eden Schleis, Sr., Def. and Allie Nau, Sr., Def./Mid.&emsp;&emsp;In other post-season honors for Avonworth athletes, the WPIAL announced its boys' soccer all-section teams as voted by the coaches. From Class 2A Section 4, Avonworth players selected were: Eli Whalen, Sr., Mid./Def., Rowan Carmichael, Jr., Mid./For., Abdul Wahab, Jr., Mid./For., Alex Rowe, Jr., GK, and Carter Berad, So., Def.&emsp;&emsp;Last month, the WPIAL announced its girls' volleyball all-section teams as voted by the coaches. From Class 2A, Section 4, Avonworth players selected were: Nora Kate Gavin, Sr., OH, Victoria Huffmyer, Sr., RH, and Cassidy Johncour, Jr., MH.
