Joseph F. Stowell Joseph F. Stowell, 77, of Scottsdale, AZ, died July 10, 2018, from complications related to Alzheimer’s. He was preceded in death by Gayle, his wife of 53 years. Joe was born in Bellevue, PA to the late Joseph and Mary Stowell. After graduating from North Catholic High, Joe began his civilian career at HJ Heinz and attended University of Pittsburgh in the evenings, earning his bachelor’s degree. Upon graduating, Joe rejoined the armed forces as a member of the US Army Reserve, from which he retired after 20 years of service, with the rank of Lt. Colonel.


James M. Aubelle James M. Aubelle, 66, of Emsworth, formerly of Swissvale, died Friday, August 17, 2019, after a nearly five year battle with cancer. He was the son of Mary Louise Aubele and the late Regis Aubele; brother of Regis, Edward (Patty), Michael (Joyce), Paul (Sherry), Mark (Gloria), Daniel (Terri), and the late Keith. Dorothy C. Vancheri Dorothy C. Vancheri, 91, of Avalon, died Saturday, August 18, 2018.


Virginia Ruth (Butler) Miranda Virginia “Ginny” Ruth (Butler) Miranda, 83, of Bellevue, went home to be with Jesus and her beloved husband, Jim, on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. Ginny was the only child of the late James and Sophie Butler. She was preceded in death by her husband, James who passed away in 2017. She had a long and impressive career as a top-notch secretary working for a senator, a district attorney, an airline executive and retired as a public servant for Allegheny County. Ginny and Jim were active in several churches throughout the years.


Richard A. Barnhart Richard A. Barnhart, 82, of Bellevue, died Sunday, July 22, 2018. He was the husband of Charlotte (Schlarp) Barnhart; father of Karen (Daniel) Saunders, Donna (Nathan) Weinstein, Joanne (Stephen) Wanat and Elaine Saunders; brother of Elizabeth Outly, John (Sandra) Hart, and the late Raymond (surviving wife, Margaret) Barnhart and Marian Fitz; also survived by 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Elizabeth H. Nickeson Elizabeth H. Nickeson, 99 of Bellevue, died Friday, July 6, 2018. She was the wife of the late William F. Nickeson; and is survived by her son, Robert G. Nickeson of Natrona Heights. Elizabeth was a great lover of birds and poetry, and she showed kindness to all. She enjoyed volunteering for many organizations and community events. Alvin W. “Al” Eck Alvin W. “Al” Eck, 77, of Avalon, formerly of Bellevue, died Sunday, July 1, 2018. He was the husband of the late Mary Lou (Wolfe) Eck; father of William Eck, Jeff (Tracey) Eck, Michelle (Tom) Darabant and the late Thomas Eck (surviving spouse, Myra), Michael Eck and Chas Laubham; also survived by companion, Janet Crossland; grandfather of Andrew Joseph, Peter, Ginny, Phillip, Chad, Fred, Julia (Zack Hubert), Andrew Dalton, Moriah and Hunter; great-grandfather of Avery and Easton Hubert.


Elizabeth P. Rainey A memorial service for Elizabeth P. Rainey (formerly of Plumer Avenue for over 70 years), who died December 17, 2017, will be held Wednesday, June 27. 2 p.m. at Emsworth United Presbyterian Church, 73 Hiland Ave., Emsworth 15202. Phyllis A. Grimshaw Phyllis A. Grimshaw, 97, of Bellevue, died Friday, June 1, 2018. She was the wife of the late G.E. Grimshaw Jr., whom she missed for many years and was also preceded in death by parents John and Frances (Scherzer) Armstrong and sisters Grace Heppenstall and Jean Krepps. She is survived by children George, John and Mary (Donovan), and nieces and nephews.


Timothy James Richmond Timothy James Richmond, 65, of Bellevue, died Wednesday, May 9, 2018. He was the son of Leona May Richmond and the late James Kenneth Richmond; brother of Judy Richmond, Pat Brewster, and Susan Richmond; survived by nephew, Scott Payne; and many cousins. A quiet, kind man, with a tremendous work ethic to the very end. He will be missed. He was the husband of 26 years to Alice Coleman (Magison) of Hampton, PA; father of Megan and Alan "AJ"; son of Margaret Coleman and the late Alan Coleman; brother of Kathy (Mike) Ayling and Allison (Erwin) Benjamin. Mark enjoyed fishing and boating, walking the parks with his coonhound, Cooper, and watching the Eagles (E!) and the Phillies.


Marlene A. Boles Marlene A. Boles, of Crescent Township. died Tuesday, March 27, 2018. She is survived by her best friend and husband of 58 years, Bruce Boles; her children, Carol Ann Myers (Theron) of Bellevue, Diana Jodikinos (Nick) of Independence Township and Thomas Boles (Jeanette) of West Norriton, PA; six grandchildren, Nicole, Ava and Nina Jodikinos of Independence Township and Katherine, Michael and Samuel Boles of West Norriton, PA; and a great-grandson, Ryan Boles.

He was born in Jenks, OK, and was the son of the late Cleo Saunders and Maxine Most; husband of Bernice (Thieret) Saunders; father of James B. (Barb Fonzi) Saunders, Darrell C. Saunders, Daniel C. (Karen) Saunders, Christopher W. Saunders, Felicia Anne Saunders and Susan (Darren) Meyers; brother of the late Merna Kennedy; also survived by 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and by his beloved dog, Coco.


Shirley A. Kinslow Shirley A. Kinslow, 80, died March 18, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford surrounded by loved ones. Shirley is survived by her children Robert T. Kinslow, Mark A. Kinslow, Kelly M. (Eugene) Painter, Thomas E. (Sharon) Kinslow, Kevin J. (Carol) Kinslow and grandchildren Kristin (Stuart) Stevey, Shane Kinslow, Chad (Melissa) Kinslow, Amanda (John) Yurkovich, Alexa Kinslow, Zachary Kinslow, Austin Painter, Collin Painter, Jessica Kinslow, and Tiger Kinslow. She also is survived by four great grandchildren.


Phillip R. Cutrara Phillip R. Cutrara, 76, of Avalon, died Friday, March 9, 2018. He was the son of the late August J. Cutrara and Mary (LaMantia) Cutrara Schmitt; brother of Robert S. Cutrara, Barbara S. (Allan) Mikesell and the late James A. (Betty surviving) Cutrara; survived by nieces and nephews, Brian, Adam and Juliette; along with five great-nieces and nephews. William R. Bender William R. Bender, 90, of Avalon, died Saturday, February 17, 2018. He was the husband of the late Rita (Thieret) Bender; father of Marilyn Bender, William K. (Anne) Bender, Christine (Henry) Stephens, Joan (Larry) Kresek, Thomas J. Bender, Nancy (Dave) Roman, Loraine (late Larry) Jeter and the late Stephanie Rose Bender; brother to Mary Bender Henning, Paul Bender, Bernard Bender and the late Kenneth Bender. William was proud of his 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Teresa is survived by her mother, Doris; her daughter, Madeline; her husband of 28 years, Bob; her brothers, Andy (Mark), Greg, Al (Margaret), Dave, Thom (Brigette) and Jeff (Mary-Beth); sisters, Nancy, Linda, Sherri (Richard), Nett (Wayne), Carol and Kathy; 23 nieces and nephews; and by countless friends.


Frederick J. Mueller Frederick J. Mueller, 90, of Emsworth, died Wednesday, January 10, 2018. He was the husband of the late Nancy J. (Staub) Mueller; father of Karen (Paul) Getz, Eric (Cindy) Mueller, and Lisa (Joe) Libonati; grandfather of Chad (Megan) Mueller, Jonathan Mueller, Jennifer (Pierce) Robison, Nicholas Libonati, Julie (Travis) Furman, Adam Libonati, and Cory Libonati; great-grandfather of Chase Furman and Liam Robison; also survived by several other family members.


Barbara A. Lowrie Barbara A. Lowrie, 75, of Corsica, passed away Wednesday evening, January 3, 2018 at her home following a courageous fight with pulmonary fibrosis. She was born December 3, 1942 in Pittsburgh; daughter of the late Paul and Ethel Coyle Burlett.


Ronald I. Young Ronald I. Young, 87, of Zelienople, formerly of Bellevue, died Monday, December 25, 2017 after a long illness. He was the husband of Marjorie (Haas) Young; father of Douglas (Karen) Young, Lucinda Redman, Christina (Ted) Parks and Randal (Jessica) Young; brother of Donna McCartney and the late Guy, Dallas, William, Marion and Hewett; also survived by 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Ron was a Bellevue Borough policeman for 22 years and was a Marine Corp Veteran of the Korean War. Memorial donations are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.


Elizabeth Claire Patterson Rainey Elizabeth “Betty” Claire Patterson Rainey, 98, a lifetime resident of the Emsworth area (Plumer Avenue), died December 17, 2017 in Lambertville, Michigan after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Samuel Patterson and Clara Block Patterson and sister, Georgene Patterson (Charles W.) Dickson. Mrs. Rainey was born in Pittsburgh July 4, 1919. She had moved to Michigan to be near her granddaughter and namesake, Elizabeth Eischen the past two years.


Michael J. Delfine Michael J. Delfine, 85, of Baden, formerly of Canonsburg and Bellevue, died Sunday, December 17, 2017.


Hunter Strang Hunter Strang, 18, of Ohio Township, died tragically Sunday, November 26, 2017. He was the son of Ward and Julie (Runberg) Strang; grandson of Bob and Mary Strang, Shirley Runberg, and the late Ken Runberg; nephew of Rick Runberg and his wife Michele; cousin of Gavin and Nathan Runberg, and Jessie, Isaac, and Rebekah Ellis; also survived by many loving relatives and friends. Hunter was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying numerous activities such as fishing, hunting, mudding, and quad-riding. He especially loved his dogs and his "85 Ford pickup and his Honda Fourtrax.


Richard P. Killmeyer Richard P. Killmeyer, 92, died Sunday, November 19, 2017, surrounded by family. He was the husband of the late Claire (Richert) Killmeyer; father of Richard P. Killmeyer Jr. (Denise) Killmeyer, Edward Killmeyer, Susanne Killmeyer, Michael Killmeyer, and Elizabeth (Mark) Thomas, brother of Donald W. (Barbara) Killmeyer, grandfather of Kristin Killmeyer, Brandon Kehr, Eric, Alex, and Taylor Thomas, great grandfather of Brayden Kehr. Uncle to Deacon Tim (Chris) Killmeyer and Wayde Killmeyer.


Joseph A. Ninehauser Joseph A. Ninehauser, 86, of Bellevue, died Thursday, November 9, 2017. He was born Sept. 1, 1931, in Pittsburgh. He married Gloria (Owens) Ninehauser on Sept. 8, 1950. She preceded him in death on Jan. 26, 2015. Joe was a veteran of the USMC. In civilian life, Joe was a general mechanic and could fix anything presented to him. Joe spent his life lending a hand to anyone in need and was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
