Tristan Grande Tristan L. "Pete" Grande, 85, of Ben Avon, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012. Mr. Grande was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired U.S. Postal Service employee.

A project to rehabilitate the bridge that carries that carries Route 65 (Ohio River Boulevard) over Birmingham Avenue in Avalon will begin on Tuesday, May 31.

To allow the work to occur, traffic on Route 65 will be reduced to a single, 10-foot wide lane in each direction between Harrison and Elizabeth avenues beginning at approximately 7 a.m. on Tuesday through late November. Restrictions will resume next spring with the overall project completed in June 2012.

Betty Jane Titler Betty Jane Sharpnack Stevenson Titler, 86, of Avalon, formerly of Brownsville and Youngstown and wife of the late Eugene Stevenson and Guy Titler, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010. Mrs. Titler was a registered nurse, taking care of veterans of World War II. She then worked in Ohio and at Bellevue Suburban General Hospital in the neonatal unit. She enjoyed reading, playing the slot machines and watching soap operas.

George Schwoegl George C. Schwoegl, 80, of Emsworth, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010. Mr. Schwoegl was a longtime member of Steamfitters Local 449.
