Robert Besser Robert John Besser, 79, of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Bellevue and husband of the late Betty Schiellien Besser, died Sunday, June 7,2015. Mr. Besser was a Bellevue High School and Duquesne University graduate. He is survived by two sisters, Betty Haughin of Zelienople and Mary Alice Naylor of Bradenton, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emerick and Elizabeth Pohlot Besser; and his brother, Emerick Besser. Services and burial were held in Arizona.

Dale Pritchard Dale E. Pritchard, 50, of Avalon, died Wednesday, June 10, 2015. Mr. Pritchard was a lifetime member of Kilbuck Township Volunteer Fire Co. He is survived by his wife, Cathy A. Trischler Pritchard; two children, Joseph E. Pritchard and his wife Kristen and Katelyn M. Pritchard; two siblings, Glen Pritchard and Wendy Crawford; his grandson, Landon J. Pritchard; and nieces and nephews.

Vera Avetta Vera T. Kalbaugh Avetta of Ohio Township died Wednesday, April 29, 2015. She is survived by her husband, Stephen L. Avetta; two children, Stephen M. Avetta and is wife Barbara and Carolyn A. Avetta; three grandchildren, Jennifer Salamon and her husband Michael, Aaron and his wife Jennifer and Lindsey Balin; seven great-grandchildren, Roman, Lillie, JJ, Hunter, Sophia, Guinevere and Oliver; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents,Zedock and Myrtle Kalbaugh; her brother, Zedock; and her granddaughter, Sarah Jane.

On May 4, Caitlin Dekker, 23, from Allison Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Mt. Nebo Road in Ohio Township.

On May 6, Thomas Hartsky, 53, from Pittsburgh, was charged with theft at the Home Depot in Ohio Township.

On May 11, John T. Heppenstall, 27, from Bellevue, after attempting to make a purchase at the wine and spirits store in the Ohio Township Giant Eagle, was cited for harassment and disorderly conduct.

Fr. Thomas Ferris Fr. Thomas B. Ferris died Tuesday, March 18, 2014. Fr. Mrs. Andrews was retired from Oliver High School, where she had been a child care and teen parent teacher. She was a member of Bethel Assembly Church, where she was a Sunday school and prayer class teacher.

The Kilbuck Township Supervisors voted Tuesday to award a bid for the reconstruction of Courtney Mill Road.

The contract will go to Independent Enterprises, Inc. of Bridgeville, which submitted a bid of $35,010 for the work.

The supervisors also opened bids for the repaving of a portion of Semple Avenue, but tabled any action on the project. The lowest responsible bid was for $48,241.

Anna Mae Ettore On Sunday, June 16, 2013 Anna Mae (Eidenschenk) Ettore, of Frederick, MD, formerly of Bellevue, was taken from her beloved family to be with the Lord. She leaves behind her beloved husband Michael ,to whom she was married to for over 50 years; two daughters, Kimberly (Edward) Hock and Christina (Michael) Robinson and her only grandson Eric. She also leaves behind one niece and four nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Marie Noel.

As in every tragedy that is covered by 24-hour news channels, Twitter, Facebook, the Vine, as well as by newspapers struggling to keep up, the information output following the bombing in Boston became repetitions, overwhelming, confusing, sometimes perfectly accurate, but often missed the voice of the average Bostonian living through days of fear and frustration.
