Dolores Stapanik Dolores "Dolly" Stapanik died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Hardesty; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rozalia Stapanik; and four siblings, Mary Louise Wisniowski, John Stapanik, Agnes Kosinski and Helen Westover. Friends were received at Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, North Side. A funeral mass was held in Risen Lord Church on Friday. Joanne Searight Joanne M. Searight, 81, of Brighton Heights, wife of the late Lynn R. Searight, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015.

Grace Chieffe Grace B. Groticelli Chieffe, 92, of Bellevue, formerly of North Port, FL and wife of the late Edward Chieffe, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2015. Mrs. Chieffe was an avid bowler and enjoyed reading, knitting, crossword puzzles and telling jokes.

Marianne Schmitt Marianne E. Waters Schmitt, wife of the late William "Wiggie" Schmitt, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2014. She is survived by four siblings, Angelika Paschke of Germany, Frank J. Waters, Raymond J. Waters and his wife Marilyn and Dorothy M. "Dodo" Withers and her husband Bob; and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond A. Sr. and Hildegarde Pampuch Waters. Friends were received at O'Brien Funeral Home, North Side. A funeral mass was held in Risen Lord Church on Saturday. Burial was in Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery.

Mary Patricia West Mary Patricia "Pat" West, 85, of Bellevue, wife of the late Jim West, died Thursday, May 23, 2013. Mrs. West was a Robert Morris University graduate, then called a secretarial school. She worked at Suburban General Hospital. She enjoyed traveling locally and to favorite vacation destinations by bus or on cruise ships with friends.

Lynn Searight Jr. Lynn R. Searight, 83, of the North Side, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Joanne M. Searight; four children, Lee and Tim Searight, Lisa M. Blauch and her husband Victor and Sherri L. Searight-McKinney and her husband Bob, all of Pittsburgh; two siblings, William F. Searight and his wife Virginia and Geraldine M. Searight; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews. Friends were received at McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, Avalon, where a blessing service was held on Friday.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta Todoverto; four children, Kenneth Todoverto Jr. and his wife Sandy, Janice Barry and her husband Mike, Carla Pritchard and her husband Glenn and Donna Boyer; his sister, Louise Killian; and five grandchildren, Brian Verlihay and his wife Steph, Steven Verlihay, Glenn Pritchard Jr., Becky Pritchard and Ally Boyer.

Gladys Weinzierl Gladys B. Pigoni Weinzierl, 90, of Ohio Township, wife of the late Joseph W. Weinzierl Jr., died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011. She is survived by two sons, J. Buster Weinzierl and his wife Sally and Michael J. Weinzierl and his wife Susan; her sister, Eva Stankunas; and four grandchildren, Mary H. Rolser and her husband David, Joseph, Andrea and Melinda Weinzierl. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Philomena Pigoni; and five siblings, Joseph Pigoni, Charles Pigoni, Vi Giovenelli, Betty Andrade and Mitzi Lasp.

Aidan Sommers of Ben Avon, age 10, will enter fifth grade at Avonworth Elementary School this year. He's on the Avonworth and Baierl YMCA swim teams, plays soccer, and enjoys activities typical of friends his age.

An ordinary kid in every way, except one.

He and his dad, Bob, have just put the finishing touches on an iPhone game app that, if all goes well, would finance his college education through a post-doctoral degree.
