Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 36 Meade Ave., Bellevue, will present a musical concert on Sunday, March 18, at 4 p.m.

Featured will be Sonya Carter of Sixth Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and Nancy H. Johnson of Bethany Baptist Church, both in Pittsburgh.

There will be a free will offering. Everyone is welcome.


The next free lunch at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 36 Meade Avenue, in Bellevue, will feature an outdoor picnic, weather permitting.

The picnic will be held Saturday, July 16, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.


Shirley Flack Orris Shirley Flack Orris, of Bellevue, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2014. She is survived by four children, Barbara Flack, Kathy Tait and her husband Spike, Sandy Flack, and David Flack and his wife, Sue, of Philadelphia; six grandchildren, Bryan, April David Jr., Charlie, Jackie and David. Donations are suggested to the Good Samaritan Hospice.

Gerard Mascara Sr. Gerard P. "Jerry" Mascara Sr., 55, of Glenfield, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015.


Susan Dively Susan Lyn Gordon Dively, 59, of Avalon, formerly of Ross Township, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014. She is survived by her husband, David J. Dively; two daughters, Kristan Semmler and Jacklyn Prepelka; her mother, Dolores Gordon; two siblings, Linda Williamson and James Gordon; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Gordon. Friends were received at the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon, until the time of services on Monday.

Mary Ann Bellin Mary Ann Bellin, 82, of Bellevue, formerly of Shadyside and wife of the late Clyde A. Bellin, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013. She is survived by five children, Lisa Froehlich and her husband Ron, Thomas Bellin, Paula Salas and her husband Oscar, Cynthia Zingaro and her husband Joseph and Timothy Bellin; her sister, Clara Josephites; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. There was no visitation. Arrangements were made by Walter J. Zalewski Funeral Home, Lawrenceville.

A prayer breakfast, sponsored by the Missionary Society, will be held Saturday, Oct. 19, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 36 Meade Ave., Bellevue, 9:30 a.m. - noon.

The speaker will be Pastor Myrna Hallenbeck of Full Life Deliverance Ministries, Inc.

Tristan Grande Tristan L. "Pete" Grande, 85, of Ben Avon, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012. Mr. Grande was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired U.S. Postal Service employee.


The Mt. Zion Baptist Church Missionary So-ciety’s annual Prayer Breakfast will be held Saturday, Oct. 20, at 9 a.m.

The theme will be “Keep on Praying,” Acts 6:4. The speaker will be Rev. Noreen Adams, as-sociate minister, First Baptist Church, Bridgeville.

There will be a free will offering. Everyone is welcome.

Dale Gilliland Dale Alexander Gilliland, 79, of Bellevue, died Thursday, June 28, 2012.


Catherine Smith Catherine Smith, 83, of Avalon, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012. Ms. Smith was retired from Bell Telephone Co. She was an active member of Telephone Pioneers. She is survived by her sister, Joan Moore and her husband Paul; her brother-in-law, Clarence Dively; nieces and nephews; and aunt of Pam and Jessica Schmidt. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Stella Smith; and five siblings, Anna Dively, Mary Lamberth, Jim, Jack and Tom Smith.


Frederick Randolph Frederick D. Randolph, 80, of Avalon, formerly of Indiana, PA, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012. Mr. Randolph was a graduate of California University of PA. He taught industrial arts and drafting at Avonworth High School for 40 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of American Legion Post #0141, VFW Post #1989 and Indiana Franklin Masonic Lodge #0313.

Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 36 Meade Ave., in Bellevue is starting a free lunch program for the North Boroughs.


Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Bellevue will install a new pastor, Rev. Roy L. Sims Sr., on Sunday, April 11.

Rev. Dr. Samuel Williams, pastor of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, will preach for the 11 a.m. service. Rev. Alan Coon, pastor of St. John the Evangelist Baptist Church, will preach and install the new pastor during the afternoon service at 4 p.m.
