YMCA race winners

The weather was close to ideal for last Saturday’s annual North Boroughs YMCA 5K run that attracted 125 total participants in a variety of age groups.

YMCA director Jake Sekich acknowledged groups who contributed to the success of the event. “We are happy to have had Allegheny Health Network as our top sponsor of the event, as well as Dr. Dahar, DMD and Associates for their contributions, and all of our other sponsors.”

Keeping the runners safe as they navigated main and back streets of Bellevue was a challenge, with Sekich thanking the Bellevue and Avalon police and fire departments, as well as NorthWest EMS for helping make this year's event another safe one.

He also recognized “…the girls of the Pittsburgh Passion women's football team and all the other volunteers who helped make our event a success.”

Pictured are winners: first place, ladies, center: Megan Wisnewski; second place (to her left) Shannon McKenzie, and third place, Kayley Wisniewski. For the men: first place, Andrew Domencic (center); second place (to his right) Paul Baldauff, and third place, JohnTolbert.

And while all of those runners posted impressive times, Charlotte Bogner (not pictured) had her own impressive accomplishment, placing first in the female 70+ category.
