Happy Birthday, Bellevue

Bellevue Borough wrapped up its months-long celebration of the founding of the borough on Sept. 7, 1867, with an old-fashioned community gathering last Saturday. Formal proclamations honoring the sesquicentennial were presented by representatives of local, county, state and federal governments.Pictured here, state Rep. Adam Ravenstahl delivers the state houseproclamation. Behind him are Avalon Mayor Brigitte Jackson, state Sen. Wayne Fontana, Bellevue Council president Lynn Tennant Heffley (who read a proclamation from U.S Congressman Mike Doyle), Bellevue Mayor Paul Cusick, and Allegheny County Council Rep. Denise Russell.
