Dodging for a cure

Avonworth and Northgate students joined up last week for an evening of friendly athletic competition that supported a good cause by raising more than $400 for, a fund devoted to beating the disease.

Each team consisted of five players who worked their ways through the brackets, boys against girls, boys against boys, until a Northgate team emerged as the overall winner of the tournament, pictured below

Organized by Avonworth senior Jay Knable as his senior project, the event was the second tournament, with $710 raised in all.
"I appreciate all of the support from Northgate," Jay said, "from the players and spectators to the staff there for allowing me to come in and talk to the students. It was great for so many of them to come to Avonworth to have fun and support the cause."
