Avonworth’s library is receiving a donation of books in recognition of the school board members.
In Pennsylvania, January is School Board Recognition Month. At the Jan. 16 meeting , representatives of both the Avonworth elementary and middle school student councils presented specially-selected books for donation to the library in honor of the dedication and hard work the members of the school board contribute to the district.
Representing the elementary student council are fifth graders: (front row, left to right) Jackson Shields, treasurer, Brandon Biagiarelli, president, Jackson Lipchak, vice-president, Mya North, public relations, Layne Shinsky, secretary, and representing the middle school student council is sixth grader Brayden Wisniewski.
Behind the students are: William Andrews, solicitor; Jeff Carraway, treasurer; Vicki Carlson (hidden behind), Kristin Thompson, vice-president, Tom Ralston, superintendent; Beau Blaser; David Oberdick, board president; Pat Stewart; Kathryn Monti and seated are Brad Waters, director of fiscal management and Ana Wagner, high school student representative.
