The North Boros / Sewickley Area Meals on Wheels will hold a fund-raising lasagna dinner, Saturday, April 29, 4-6:30 p.m. at the St. James Lutheran Church fellowship hall located on 28 Pittsburgh St. in Emsworth.

Dinner includes lasagna, salad, dinner rolls, homemade dessert and beverage. Cost is $10 or $6 for smaller portions.

The Avonworth Area Do Something Club (AADSC) will holdits third annual community-wide clean-up day on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in Ben Avon, Avalon and Emsworth. The event will begin and end at Avon Park and at Emsworth Park.

AADSC will provide water, garbage bags and gloves.

Crews of volunteers will clean up parks and various streets, and the Vinegar Hollow trails and other side streets.

Participants who preregister at aweso by April 21 will be entered to win gift cards.

The League of Women Voters will moderate a forum for candidates running for local office in Avalon and Bellevue.

Candidates for borough office, as well as Northgate School Board, have been invited to take part in the forum on Wednesday, April 19, at The Center of Bellevue, 2 N. Sprague Ave. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the forum will begin promptly at 6 p.m.

There are several positions for which voters will need to choose candidates in the May primary election, including the Democratic nominations for Bellevue mayor and First Ward Council, and the school board.

Emsworth residents ages 10 and younger are invited to participate in Emsworth Borough’s annual Easter egg hunt, Saturday, April 15, 10 a.m., at Marmo Community Park on Huntington Avenue.

Children will meet the Easter Bunny, hut for eggs and receive a treat bag. Each child should bring a basket to collect eggs. Refreshments will be served. Registration will be held at the borough office during business hours, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. beginning April 3 or by calling the borough office, (412)761-1161.

Avalon Borough will sponsor its annual Easter egg hunt, for children through age 10, Saturday, April 8, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the parking lot next to the municipal building.

Children can meet the Easter Bunny, search for hidden eggs and enjoy activities including a face painter, balloon artist, and visit with Animal Friends.

Ohio Township will host egg hunts at Ohio Township Community Park, 325 Nicholson Rd.

The cost for each hunt is $3 for Ohio Township residents and $5 for nonresidents. Registration closes one week before the hunts.

The flashlight egg hunt for ages 8-12 will be held Friday, April 7, 8-9:30 p.m. Participants are required to bring their own flashlights. Select winners will receive prizes. Spots are limited for the flashlight hunt, so early registration is suggested

Kids ages 4-16 have the chance to win the title of Honorary Mayor of Bellevue and perform “official” duties during Bellevue’s sesquicentennial (150th) celebration.

Tickets for this fund-raising raffle can be purchased at the Bellevue Borough Hall, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Friday, at $5 each.

The winner will ride on a float in the Fireman’s Parade, Thursday, June 8 and perform duties on Saturday, June 10, during the Sesquicentennial Block Party celebration.

The drawing for Honorary Mayor will be held Wednesday, May 31, 4 p.m.
