Trinity Lutheran Church of Avalon and Avalon Borough are seeking crafters for the 18th annual Avalon Apple Blossom Festival, Saturday, May 12, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The event will take place outside, in front of the church and borough hall on California Avenue.

Cost is $20 per space.

All individuals and organizations are invited to participate. Crafters should bring their own table.

Space is limited.

Live, Learn, Grow is hosting a “Downsizing” class, Monday, Jan. 29, 10 a.m.-noon, at the Center of Bellevue.

The class, taught by certified realtor Eileen Gallagher, will provide the essentials to decluttering and downsizing one’s home. Participants will gain knowledge about what to keep and what to discard, as well as tidbits on how to organize garage sales and estate sales. Cost of admission is $5.

Assumption Church in Bellevue is hosting “Super Bingo,” Sunday, Jan. 28, 2 p.m. in McGovern Hall. Doors open at 1 p.m.

Admission is $25 and includes a six-card package, one slice of pizza, one bottle of water and one cookie.

Extra packages are available to purchase.

The prize for a regular games is $75. Special games have a $150 prize, and there is a $1,000 jackpot game.

Trinity Lutheran Church, 638 California Ave., Avalon (next to the Borough Hall), will hold its monthly Family Night, Saturday, Dec. 30, 5 p.m.

In keeping with the focus on family-friendly activities, dinner will be served, followed by an early New Year’s Eve celebration. Festivities include games, noisemakers, hats, and a countdown to 2018.

A community presentation to address diversity and inclusion issues in the Bellevue community will be held at the Center of Bellevue on Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m..

The program will discuss the cost of racism and prejudice in communities, and how to make change for the better.

Residents will be led in conversation by YWCA’s Senior Director of Advocacy for Race and Gender Equity, Chaz Kellem, discussing a variety of topics including how to improve cross cultural communication skills, foster an appreciation for differences, and create a more welcoming and diverse environment.

Mayor Dee Quinn and Emsworth Borough Council invite Emsworth residents to join them at the annual Light Up the Borough! festivities to be held Sunday, Dec. 3.

Horse drawn carriage rides sponsored by FNB Bank will begin at approximately 5 p.m. Participants will sing holiday tunes, make crafts and enjoy food and refreshments at the fire station, and, magician Eric Davis will be on hand while everyone waits for Santa to arrive via fire truck.

The North Suburban Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring “The North Boros Holiday Celebration,” featuring a wide variety of activities and events, Friday, Dec. 1, on Lincoln Avenue in Bellevue.

Additionally, the Bellevue Farmers Market is hosting a holiday market, 5-9 p.m. in the lower level of The Center of Bellevue, 2 North Sprague St. The market features food products, baked goods, handcrafted items, ceramics, jewelry, body products, candles and more.

Food trucks will be parked along Lincoln Avenue from 5-8 p.m.

Following dinner, get into the Christmas spirit by participating in a variety of fun holiday activities including games, crafts and other projects.
