A representative of state Rep. Adam Ravenstahl’s office will be at the Bellevue Borough Building next week to assist residents with applications for the state’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program.

New Life Community Church will host its 9th annual chili cook-off and bake sale, Saturday, Feb. 23, 3-6 p.m. in the Orchard Room of the church, 45 North Fremont Avenue in Bellevue.

For $3, an attendee may taste three chilies. For $10, one may taste all the different chilies.

Also, other snacks, including hot dogs, walking tacos, nachos and beverages, are available for purchase at the snack stand. Desserts can be found at the bake sale and the event also features a basket raffle.

Proceeds support The Shepherd’s Door ministries.

The Sacred Heart Parish Children’s Committee is hosting its annual St. Valentine’s Day Father-Daughter Dance, Friday, Feb. 8, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Sacred Heart auditorium.

The event features a D.J., refreshments, a photo booth for dad and daughter and a special gift for each girl. Cost is $15 per father and daughter and $5 for each additional girl.

Bona Fide Bellevue’s Live. Learn. Grow committee is sponsoring a new event: a hiking group.

The first hike will be Sunday, Feb. 3, 11 a.m., and other hikes will be held every Sunday thereafter, weather permitting, at the same time.

Nathalie Campanile is leader of the hikes. She is Swiss/Italian and moved to Bellevue when she married long-time Bellevue resident Samuele Bozzolla. Campanile is a medical doctor who is currently studying in order to be able to practice in the United States. She loves being outdoors and close to nature.

North Hills Community Outreach is taking orders through Feb. 4 for its annual citrus sale.

New in 2019 are quarts of strawberries picked fresh in Florida, which along with the boxes of grapefruit, oranges, and pears are hand-checked by volunteers and are available for pickup March 2 and 3 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 1965 Ferguson Road, Hampton.

Purchases benefit NHCO. Boxes of fruit can also be donated to NHCO’s food pantries.

Young women who are senior high school students and who live in the Avonworth community may apply for three scholarships. Two $1,500 scholarships are sponsored by the Avon Club, and a $1,000 Kathy Hall Memorial Scholarship is also available.

Applications are now available. The applications for the Avon Club scholarships are due Jan. 13, 2019. Selected individuals will be interviewed March 17. Scholarship applications for the Kathy Hall Memorial scholarship are due Jan. 31, 2019.

All applicants will be notified March 24, 2019.
