"Cross Walk" and community Good Friday service

All are invited to join in a community commemoration of the events of Good Friday.

The Good Friday Cross Walk is an old North Boroughs tradition. At 11 a.m. on Friday, March 29, area residents will gather at New Life Community Presbyterian Church (formerly Northminster), 45 North Fremont Ave. in Bellevue Carrying a full-sized cross, members of local churches will walk along Lincoln Avenue, stopping several times for readings and prayers. The Cross Walk will end at Bellevue Christian Church, 680 Lincoln Ave. (opposite Kuhn's), just before noon.

The Good Friday community service will then be held at Bellevue Christian Church beginning at noon. This service of Scripture reading, meditation, song and prayer will last one hour. Rev. Richard Feagin of Greenstone United Methodist Church will deliver the sermon. Other local clergy and representatives of some Christian non-profit organizations will also be leading the worship.
