Lawrence Conte Lawrence A. Conte, 94, of Bellevue, died Monday, Sept. 20, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Betty Conte; two sisters, Anne and Angela; and nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held in North Hills Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Saturday. Arrangements were made by the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon.

Lillian Stevens Lillian M. "Toots" Stevens, 95, of Oakmont, formerly of Emsworth and wife of the late Kenneth Stevens, died Monday, Sept. 20, 2010.


Linda Fader Linda Suzanne (Rudy) Fader, 58, of Kilbuck Township, wife of John D. Fader, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010. Mrs. Fader loved sailing on her and her husband’s boat, the Dalliance, in the Chesapeake Bay, and was there at the time of her death. She was a gourmet cook who also loved to sew. Her hobbies included a Fortnightly Study Group and art classes.


Richard McKiernan Richard J. "Dick" McKiernan, 89, of Sherwood Oaks, Cranberry, formerly of Bellevue and husband of the late Barbara Hamilton McKiernan, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010. Mr. McKiernan was a World War II, U.S. Navy veteran stationed aboard the U.S.S. Whale submarine. He was retired from Duquesne Light Co., where he was a supervisor.


Gabriel Negri Gabriel Negri, 62, of West View, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010. Mr. Negri attended Bellevue High School. He worked as a stage hand for IATSE Local 3 for 20 years. He enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and building.


Judith California Judith Ann Papania California, 44, of Ross Township,. died Monday, Aug. 23, 2010. Mrs. California was a graduate of North Hills High School and Carnegie Mellon University. She worked as a chemical engineer for several years.


John Gregor John T. Gregor, 87, of Pittsburgh, husband of the late Gertrude Gregor, died Monday, Aug. 9, 2010 in Toledo, OH. Mr. Gregor was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, having served as a machine gun operator. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Bellevue Council #1400. He is survived by his stepdaughter, Barbara Mitchell; four siblings, George and Paul Gregor, both of Pittsburgh, Josephine Caughhorn of Toledo and Ann Bamiller of Chicago, IL; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Gregor.


Eleanor Lundberg Eleanor Y. Yoders Lundberg, 86, of Bellevue, wife of the late George C. Lundberg, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2010. Mrs. Lundberg was a longtime member of Bellevue Central United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She enjoyed bowling with the Morning Glories bowling league. She is survived by her son, Carl Lundberg and his wife Chris; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five siblings, Warden and Harry Yoders, Bertha Comstock, Dorothy Trimble and Florella Myers.


Jane Conover Jane Dolan Conover of Mt. Lebanon, formerly of Bellevue and Ross Township, died Tuesday, July 27, 2010. Mrs. Conover was a vice president of Conover and Associates for more than 45 years.


Dale Heffley Dale D. Heffley, 65, of Ross Township, formerly of Avalon, died Wednesday, July 21, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy "Peg" Heffley; his daughter, Catherine Oliverio and her husband Bill; two grandchildren, Salvatore "Sal" and Catherine "Katie" Oliverio; his sister-in-law, Nancy Bevan; his brother-in-law, John Wedlock and his wife Pat; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Catherine Heffley; and two brothers, James Heffley and Dee Carrick.


Ralph Smith Ralph E. "Bud" Smith, 85, of Bellevue, died Monday, July 19, 2010. Mr. Smith was a 1944 graduate of Bellevue High School and attended Pittsburgh Accountancy Academy, now Robert Morris University. He was a career life underwriter and was retired from Children's Hospital. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, past president of Avalon/Bellevue Kiwanis and a longtime member of Greenstone United Methodist Church in Avalon. He enjoyed his petunia garden.


Theodore Andartes Theodore J. Andartes, formerly of Emsworth and husband of the late Dorothy Andartes, died Thursday, July 8, 2010. Mr. Andartes was a Mason and member of the North Hills Lodge. He was a former elder at Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church. He is survived by five children, Gloria Moss, Barbara Fonzi, Donna Faynor, John Andartes and Dorothy Derbish; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Andartes and Madeline Britsch.


Aloysius Gallagher Aloysius M. Gallagher, 70, of Allison Park, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010. Mr. Gallagher worked as a consultant in human resources. He was a lector at St. Ursula Church in Allison Park and a volunteer and member of the Renew Group. He taught at the Heinz School of Carnegie Mellon University, St. Francis University, LaRoche College and Butler County Community College.


W. Kirk Saylor William Kirk Saylor, 78, of Bellevue died Wednesday, June 23, 2010 in Forbes Hospice. Mr. Saylor was an active, longtime member of Greenstone United Methodist Church in Avalon. He was a 32nd degree Mason.


Arlene Wible Arlene R. Heim Wible of Ohio Township died Saturday, June 5, 2010. She is survived by her husband, Walter J. Wible; her sister, Karen Clark and her husband Mal; and two nieces, Heather and Ashley Clark. Friends were received at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church until the time of services on Saturday. Michael Hilf Michael K. Hilf, 49, of Cranberry Township, formerly of Avalon, died Sunday, May 30, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Lucina Hilf; two daughters, Ashley and Becky; two sisters, Linda Hilf and Kathy Schreibeis and her husband Milton; and nieces, nephews and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Lou Hilf. Friends were received at Devlin Funeral Home of Cranberry until the time of services on Saturday. Walter Zotter Walter J. "Zotter the Potter" Zotter, 59 of South Side died Saturday, May 29, 2010. Mr. Zotter operated Zotter Pottery since 1976 and his pottery was sold all over the U.S. and foreign countries. He was a graduate of Avonworth High School and Thiel College. He was an avid cyclist.


Shirley Dunbar Shirley L. Jones Dunbar of Brighton Heights, wife of the late William L. Dunbar Jr., died Monday, May 17, 2010. She is survived by three children, William L. Dunbar III and his wife Janice, Debra A. Walker and Daniel D. Dunbar and his wife Christine; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. There was no visitation and services and burial were private. David Galvin David W. Galvin of Butler, PA died Wednesday, May 12, 2010. He is survived by his mother, Fay Tegge Galvin; three siblings, Patricia Crawford and her husband Edward, Timothy J. Galvin and his wife Debbie of GA and James T. Galvin of Bethel Park; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Timothy A. Galvin. Catherine Majestic Catherine J. Majestic of Bellevue and Avalon died Thursday, May 6, 2010. Ms. Majestic had been a volunteer at Suburban General Hospital and Lutheran Services in Bellevue. She is survived by six nieces and nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews; and two great-grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Julia Majestic; and five siblings, George J., Frank G., Joseph M., Albert H. and Margaret Majestic.


Mamie Golden Mamie A. Roman Golden of Brighton Heights, wife of the late John A. Golden Sr., died Thursday, April 29, 2010. Mrs. Golden was a secular in the Third Order of St. Francis. She is survived by three stepchildren, Rev. John A. Golden Jr., Henry Golden and Kathy Brown; four sisters, Lucille Sahd, Faye Platz, Dorothy Roman and Marion Angelini; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Anthony Roman.


Samuel LaRocca Samuel LaRocca, 95, of Avalon, husband of the late Mary Louise Nicolette LaRocca, died Friday, April 23, 2010. Mr. LaRocca was retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. He performed with the Pittsburgh Symphony and taught at the University of Pittsburgh and abroad.


Sidionia Hellerman Sidionia C. Roose Hellerman, 89, of Avalon, wife of the late Allen A. Hellerman, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010. She is survived by three children, Edward P. Hellerman and his wife Marcia, Marie E. Griffin and her husband Harry and Allen B. Hellerman and his wife Barbara; her brother, Richard Roose; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four siblings, Benjamin, John and Joseph Roose and Margaret Bordt.


Richard Miller Jr. Richard T. "Hemi" Miller Jr., 60, of Grindstone, PA, formerly of Pittsburgh, died Saturday, April 10, 2010. Mr. Miller was a member of the Teamsters, Bridgeport Young Men's Club, Brownsville Sportsman's Club and Coal Hill Happy Couple Club.
