Traffic control

Emsworth’s Department of Public Works will soon be receiving some new traffic-control equipment.

At the June 14 council meeting, a motion was made to purchase 32 reflective-type cones and four eight-foot barriers. At a recent accident on Ohio River Boulevard where a vehicle ran into a building, the first responders did not have enough traffic control devices to handle the rush hour heavy traffic on Route 65.

The motion was unanimously passed to purchase the desired cones and barriers at a cost not to exceed $1,600. Council members Carolyn Galante, Jason Helfrich and Kevin Yurkovich were not present.
