Kirk Tyler
Kirk F. Tyler of Avalon died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Carlson Tyler; three sons, Kirk M. Tyler of Maryland, Scott T. Tyler and Brad P. Tyler; four siblings, Ronald Tyler and his wife Nancy, Marilyn Hutchison and her husband Bill of Nevada, Joyce Schraeder and her husband Garry and Noreen Sarazen and her husband Larry; his sister-in-law, Jean Tyler; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Martin “Butchie” Tyler.
Friends were received at O'Brien Funeral Home, North Side, until the time of a blessing service on Saturday. Memorials are suggested to Western Psychiatric Institute, 3811 O'Hara St., Pittsburgh, PA 15213.

Frances Mulligan
Frances B. Gondek Mulligan of Brighton Heights, wife of the late John Mulligan, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009.
She is survived by her daughter, Marlene Suchma and her husband Rick; her sister, Marcy Glaser; two granddaughters, Patricia Duty and her husband Garrett and Amy Suchma; and two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Morgan. She was preceded in death by five siblings, John Gondek, Helen Hattala, Martha Stahovec, Jenny Sovchen and Betty Homze.
Friends were received at Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, North Side. A funeral mass was held in Risen Lord Church on Saturday.

Theodore Merrick
Theodore C. Merrick, 55, of Ben Avon, died recently.
Mr. Merrick was the former development manager of the Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation. He was an ordained deacon and elder of Park Presbyterian Church in Beaver, PA and a former board member of Old Economy in Ambridge and the Pittsburgh YMCA on the North Side. He also was a member of the board of directors of Standard Horse Nail Corp., New Brighton, a trustee of Merrick Art Gallery in New Brighton. A graduate of Mercersburg Academy and Washington and Lee University, he received an MBA from West Virginia University.
He is survived by his former wife, Jill Merrick of Ben Avon; two siblings, Karen Copper and her husband Charles “Brub” of Brighton Township and Robert S. Merrick Jr. and his wife Kristine of Poland, OH; two nieces, Deborah Carlo and her husband Gregory Koepke of Baltimore, MD and Gretchen Lang and her husband Peter of Brooklyn, NY; two nephews, Ryan Merrick of Cranberry Township and Peter Merrick of Poland, OH; and two grandnephews, Dru and Devon Merrick.
Friends were received at J.T. Andrew Funeral Home, Beaver, where services were held on Saturday with Rev. Paul J. Wierman officiating. Burial was in Grove Cemetery, New Brighton. Suellen Barna
Suellen Barna, 58, of West View, died Friday, Aug. 28, 2009.
Ms. Barna was retired from the North Hills School District, where she had been a special education teacher for 31 years. She served in the North Hills Education Association for more than 20 years, and as president for six years.
She is survived by three siblings, Joanne Bradley and her husband Wayne, Rosemary O'Rorke and Dr. Gerard Barna and his wife Donna; and nieces, nephews and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jules and Rosemary Barna; three siblings, Judith, Gerard F. and Francis G. Barna; and her brother-in-law, Martin O'Rorke.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in the Church of the Assumption on Monday. Memorial contributions are suggested to her church or Society of the Little Flower, 1313 Frontage Rd., Darien, IL 60561.

John Yoest Jr.
John F. “Jack” Yoest Jr., 68, of West View, died Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Betty McIntire Yoest; two children, John F. Yoest III and Jennifer Wadsworth and her husband Randy; four siblings, Donald Yoest, Patricia Hershberger, Richard Yoest and Nancy Chambers; four grandchildren, Carrie, Johnny, Justin and Jordan; his great-grandson, Noah; and his pet, Buddy. He was preceded in death by his sister, Janie Yoest.
There was no visitation. A memorial service was held in Ridgewood Church, West View, on Wednesday. Arrangements were made by the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon.

Linda Grogan
Linda L. Grogan of Bellevue died Friday, Aug. 28, 2009.
She is survived by two sons, Robert F. and Raymond A. Burkhart; three siblings, Clifford Grogan Jr., Diane Sterbacky and Thomas Grogan; two grandchildren, Angel Rayne Burkhart and Kyle Burkhart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Leatrice O'Brien Grogan; and her grandson, Nathan Burkhart.
Services and burial were private.
