Claude Phipps
Claude A. Phipps, 72, of Avalon, died Monday, Sept. 19, 2011 in Allegheny General Hospital.
Mr. Phipps was the owner of Phipps 18th Century Flowers. He fostered cats and dogs from the Humane Society and shared peanut butter sandwiches with squirrels and enjoyed feeding birds.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Cardamone Phipps; his brother-in-law, Russell Cardamone of Sewickley; and his rescues, Jack, Belle, Willow and Cocoa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick "Ted" and Gladys Holt Phipps.

Thomas Neill
Thomas J. Neill, 69, of Ohio Township, died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011.
Mr. Neill was a retired Pittsburgh police officer. He was a member of the F.O.P.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Bland Neill; two daughters, Janet Neill and Barbara Neill and her husband Russ Wiles; three siblings, Dorothy Hydro and her husband Steven, James Neill and his wife Marylou and Mary Ross and her husband Robert; and a grandchild, Shane Bialowas.
Friends were received at Schellhaas Funeral Home, West View, where a memorial service was held on Tuesday. Memorial donations are suggested to the Salvation Army, Western PA Headquarters, 700 N. Bell Ave., Carnegie, PA 15106.

Denise Ranieri
Denise A. "Nina" Ranieri, 55, of Brighton Heights, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011.
Ms. Ranieri owned Ranieri Hair Designs in West View for many years.
She is survived by two sisters, Georgeianna Brown and Donna Brown; her niece, Christina Pendrak; her nephew, Peter Brown; her grandnephew, Jonathan Pendrak; her grandniece, Gabriella Pendrak; and aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Teresa Ranieri.
Friends were received at H.P. Brandt Funeral Home, Ross Township, where a blessing service was held on Monday.

Jacqueline Waldron
Jacqueline "Jackie" Waldron, 55, of West View, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011.
She is survived by her husband, Mark T. Waldron Sr.; two children, Kristen L. Waldron and Mark T. Waldron Jr.; her father, John Kitchen; four siblings, Janet Wenger, Kenneth Kitchen, Frances Donovan and Robert Kitchen; and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Loretta Kitchen; and two siblings, John Kitchen and Kathleen Mitchell.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue, where a blessing service was held on Monday. Memorial contributions are suggested to Easter Seals.

Constance Morrow
Constance Morrow, 76, of Lawrenceville, died Monday, Sept. 5, 2011 in St. Francis Medical Center, Midlothian, VA.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorene Morrow Beyer and her husband Sanford of Midlothian; her sister, Patricia Urban of Allison Park; her granddaughter, Katie; her niece, Leslie Wurst and her husband Albert of Avalon; two grandnieces, Allison and April; and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Stella Wroblewski; her brother, Raymond Wroblewski; and her former husband, William Morrow.

Arlene Abernethy
Arlene Megella Abernethy, 78, of Bellevue, wife of the late John R. Abernethy, died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011.
She is survived by three children, Diane Abernethy Vrana and her husband Regis, Barry Abernethy and his wife Denise and Brian Abernethy and his wife Heather; nine grandchildren, Jesse and his wife Christina, Justin and his wife Kristi, Anthony, Breanne, Cami, Joshua, Jake, Cullen and Ethan and Braidan.
Friends were received at the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon. Services were held in Bellevue United Presbyterian Church on Wednesday. Memorials are suggested to the Breast Cancer Society.

Dorothy Martin
Dorothy M. Stankowski Martin, 81, of Avalon, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011.
Mrs. Martin, along with her husband, owned Martin Jewelers in Perrysville.
She is survived by her husband, Donald P. Martin; her sister-in-law, Helen Stankowski; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph and Paul Martin.
Friends were received at T.B. Devlin Funeral Home, North Hills, where a blessing service was held on Thursday.
