Leslie Weigand
Leslie J. Weigand, 80, of Brighton Heights, formerly of Avalon and Bloomfield and husband of the late Myrtle Melder Weigand, died Friday, July 31, 2009.
Mr. Weigand was retired from Teamsters Local 249.
He is survived by his brother, Donald G. Weigand; his in-laws, Raymond and Joann Melder; nieces; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph “Pie” and Mabel Weigand; and his brother, Thomas W. Weigand.
Friends were received at Winter Funeral Home, Bloomfield, where services were held on Tuesday. Burial was in Highwood Cemetery.

Lynette Zygmuntowicz
Lynette Gniadek Zygmuntowicz, 56, of Emsworth, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009.
She is survived by her husband, Jozef Zygmuntowicz; two children, Franz and his wife Amanda and Elizabeth Zygmuntowicz; her brother, Mieczyslaw and his wife Sabina; and two grandchildren, Savanna and Melora. She was the aunt of Mickey, Laura and Christopher and their families and children.
Friends were received at the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon, where a blessing service was held on Wednesday. Burial was in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Luther Burch
Luther Burch, 79, of Bellevue, died Sunday, July 26, 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Toni Burch; eight children, Barbara Joyce Deandra, Luther Burch Jr., Gwendolyn Renee Williams, Dale Joseph Burch, Allison Leslie Williams, Cassandra Michelle Burch, Ingrid Spell and George Tyrone Carter Burch; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends were received at Robinson Funeral Home, Perry Hilltop, where a memorial service was held on Thursday. Burial was in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.

James McLemore
James B. McLemore, 77, formerly of Eastmont, died Friday, July 31, 2009.
Mr. McLemore was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. For 38 years, he was a manager of real estate and industrial development for B&O Railroad. He was an avid sportsman.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Coleman McLemore; four children, William McLemore of Avalon, Steven McLemore and his wife Diane of Prentiss, MS, Judy Stipanovich and her husband Jon of Cranberry Township and Scott McLemore and his wife Diane of Tucson, AZ; two siblings, William McLemore and Joyce Harrison; and five grandchildren, Christopher, Julie, Monica, Skye and Gavin; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five sisters.
Friends were received at Jobe Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Turtle Creek, where military honors were presented on Monday. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

Cecelia Pirone
Cecelia Rocco Pirone, 77, of Avalon, wife of the late Vito Pirone, died Saturday, August 1, 2009.
Mrs. Pirone enjoyed singing.
She is survived by three children, Maria Keicher and her husband Terry, Frank Pirone and his wife Marcy and Anna Moore and her husband Joseph; her brother, Joseph Rocco; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Dominic, Carmen and Frank Rocco.
Friends were received at the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon, where services were held on Friday. Burial was in Highwood Cemetery.

Timothy Katterson
Timothy C. Katterson, 25, of Sheraden, died Sunday, July 26, 2009.
He is survived by his mother, Linda Katterson; his brother, Jason Katterson and his wife Desiree Vanzin of Sheraden; his grandfather, Herb Steigerwald; four uncles, Steve Folmer and his wife Linda Rae, Michael Folmer and his wife Brenda, David Folmer and his wife Lisa and Glen Katterson and his wife Anna Marie; two aunts, Cindy Folmer and Janice Lawson and her husband Gary; his nephew, Dylan; his girlfriend, Jackie Reichl; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert P. Katterson; his grandparents, Louise Folmer, Robert and Patricia Katterson; two aunts and an uncle, Laura Folmer, Scott Folmer and Sandra Lee Katterson Lubbert.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue. Graveside services were held in Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery on Thursday.

Walter Rekasie
Walter S. Rekasie, 91, died Tuesday, July 28, 2009.
Mr. Rekasie served for 44 months in the U.S. Marine Corps in the campaigns at Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Peleliu and Bougainville in the South Pacific.
He is survived by his wife, Regina “Jean” Kaminski Rekasie; two sons, John Rekasie and his wife Sis and Robert Rekasie and his wife Margie; his brother, Andy Rekasie; his sister, Ann Spece; seven grandchildren, Jack, Kirk, Shawn and Gina Hunter, JoAnn Knauff, Anne Jenkins of Columbus, OH and Adam Rekasie; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, John and Stanley Rekasie.
Friends were received at Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, North Side. A funeral mass was held in St. Cyril of Alexandria Church on Thursday. Donations are suggested to Library for the Blind or U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots.
