Vera Wolfe
Vera Margaret Wolfe, 88, of Glenfield, wife of the late George William Wolfe, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012 in Masonic Village in Sewickley.
Mrs. Wolfe was a member of St. Mary Church in Glenfield.
She is survived by two children, William Wolfe and his wife Geraldine of Mars, PA and Debra Clark and her husband Charles of Natrona Heights, PA; her sister, Evelyn Kroepil; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Christian and Philomena Wintermantel; and seven siblings, Helen Lutz, Adele Waite, Priscilla Moss, Christian, William, Wilbur and Joseph Wintermantel.
Services and burial were private. Arrangements were made by Richard D. Cole Funeral Home, Sewickley.

Joan Pastor
Joan M. Smith Pastor, 91, formerly of Ben Avon and New Port Richey, FL, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2012.
Mrs. Pastor was an avid crafter.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas E. Pastor; four children, Judy Pastor of Dallas, TX, Lynne Pastor of Pittsburgh, Joan Harley of Wayne, PA and Tom Pastor of Sewickley; her brother, Richard Smith of West View; and her grandson Max Pastor. She was preceded in death by five siblings, Jack, Bob, Tom and Kathleen Smith and Frances Simpson.
There was no visitation and services and burial were private. Arrangements were made by the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon.

Jennie Shamonsky
Jennie E. Rogel Shamonsky, wife of the late Joseph Shamonsky, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012.
She is survived by four children, Joseph Shamonsky Jr. and his wife Helen, Carol Snelshire and her husband George, Michael Shamonsky and his wife Carolyn and Stephen Shamonsky; her sister, Helen Groetsch; 21 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Margaret and Janice; and 12 siblings.
Friends were received at Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, North Side. A funeral mass was held in Risen Lord Church on Thursday.

Alice Austin
Alice L. Austin, 87, of the North Side, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012.
Ms. Austin worked at Paniere's for 10 years. She then worked for the Internal Revenue Service in the criminal division for 35 years.
She is survived by niece, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank ad Philipina Austin; and seven brothers, Emerick, John, Frederick, Richard, William, Edwin and Robert Austin.
Friends were received at Rex T. Smith Funeral Home, North Side. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in St. Cyril of Alexandria Church on Thursday.

Vivian Gesler
Vivian M. Staniszewski Gesler, 80, of Wexford, formerly of Avalon and wife of the late Charles R. Gesler, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012.
Mrs. Gesler enjoyed arts and crafts, playing bingo at the Avalon senior center and weekends at Conneaut Lake.
She is survived by three children, Mary Ann Weaver and her husband Frank of Volant, PA, Barbara J. Miller and her husband Ken of Wexford, and Nancy J. Creedon and her husband John of Roanoke, VA; six grandchildren, Frank H. Weaver Jr. and his wife Amy of New Market, MD, Mary Christine Fleeger and her husband Brian of Volant, Jason C. Creedon and his wife Michelle of Stafford, VA, Dr. Kimberly A. Leeman and her husband Brad of McCandless, Natalie J. Cunningham and her husband Wesley of Eastampton, NJ and Patrick K. Miller and his fiance Stephanie Tomasetti of Ohio Township; and 10 great-grandchildren, Grace, Lily and Frank Weaver, Robert and Ann Marie Fleeger, A.J. and Jordan Creedon, Samantha Creedon and Cadence and Camren Cunningham. She was preceded in death by her parents, Christ and Mary Staniszewski.
Friends were received at the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon, where a blessing service was held on Wednesday. Burial was in Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery. Donations are suggested to American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 15205 for breast, bone or childhood cancer research or the Alzheimer's Association, 1100 Liberty Ave., Suite E-201, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.

Frances Moorhead
Frances Moorhead, wife of the late Edward Moorhead, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012.
She is survived by her sister, Shirley Tegethoff and her husband Leo.
There was no visitation. A blessing service was held in the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue, on Friday. Burial was in Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery.
