Dale A. Gilliland
A memorial service will be held at the Riverview United Presbyterian Church on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at 3 p.m. for Dale A. Gilliland, 79, of Bellevue, who died June 28, 2012.

Joseph McMillan
Joseph George McMillan, 86, of the North Boroughs, husband of the late Dorothy "Petie" Cook McMillan, died Monday, July 16, 2012.
Mr. McMillan was a graduate of Allegheny College where he was the captain of the basketball team. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving as a pilot at the Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi, TX. He was co-founder and owner of Lectromat Inc. in Mars, PA. He was an avid golfer and paddle tennis player at Shannopin Country Club.
He is survived by four children, Barbara Lee McMillan and her partner Roseann Szalkowski of Roselle, IL, Gary George McMillan and his wife Sherry Dinnen of Allison Park, Nancy Jo McMillan Myers and her husband Terry of Tigard, OR and Karen Beth McMillan of North Hills; five grandchildren, Kara Cacchione Czaplewski and her husband Neal, Erin Marie Cacchione, Lisa Ann Cacchione, Melissa Dorothy Myers and Corey McMillan Myers; and two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Drew Czaplewski.
Friends were received at McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, Avalon. Services were private. Memorial donations are suggested to Alzheimer's Association, 1100 Liberty Ave., Suite 201, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.

Howard Stringert
Howard William Stringert, 84, of Ohio Township died Monday, July 23, 2012.
Mr. Stringert was an active member of Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of Ohio Township Fire Company, a food service consultant and commercial kitchen designer for McFarland and Associates. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed umpiring sports games, bowling, working with tools, teaching Sunday school, volunteering for Meals On Wheels for 15 years and camping at Tionesta, PA.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Karl Stringert; two daughters, Kathy Hess and her husband Harold and Amy Cain and her husband Patrick; four grandchildren, Shelly Hess, Patrick Cain and his wife Marie, Andrew Cain and his wife Maria and Michael Hess; a great-grandson, Evan Patrick Cain; and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Howard Stringert and Dorothy Stringert Schindler; his dear friend, A.B. Wadlow; and aunts and uncles.
Friends were received at McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, Avalon. Funeral services were held in Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church on Wednesday. Donations are suggested to his church at 1828 Roosevelt Road, Sewickley, PA 15143.

Norman Leicher
Norman G. Leicher, 86, of Ross Township, died Friday, July 13, 2012.
Mr. Leicher was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Maser Leicher; two children, Wayne Leicher and his wife Donna of Atlanta, GA and Paula Bucklad and her husband Brian of Ross Township; two siblings, Robert Leicher and Esther Matcherz; three grandchildren, Erica Joiner, Ryan and Megan Bucklad; and two great-grandchildren, Ansley and Addison Joiner. He was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Leicher.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in the Church of the Assumption on Tuesday. Memorial contributions are suggested to Bethany Hospice, Six Parkway Center, Suite 100, 875 Greentree Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15220.

William Swidorsky Jr.
William J. Swidorsky Jr. died Tuesday, July 17, 2012.
He is survived by his father, William D. Swidorsky; five siblings, David Swidorsky and his wife Carolyn, John Swidorsky and his wife Cori, Richard Swidorsky and his wife Tracy, Catherine Klaas and her husband Norm and Theresa Donnelly; his godson, Jacob Swidorsky; a dear friend, Tom Rocco; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Swidorsky.
Friends were received at Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, North Side. A funeral mass was held in Risen Lord Church on Saturday.

Elizabeth Zilian
Elizabeth J. "Betty" Zilian of Avalon, wife of the late Edward "Bud" Zilian, died Thursday, July 19, 2012.
Mrs. Zilian had worked at First Federal of Pittsburgh on McKnight Road as head teller. She was an avid golfer, played in the Wednesday night card club and was a member of Club Julian.
She is survived by four daughters, Patty McMahon and her husband Bob, Sandra Graver and her husband Dave, Jacqueline Herold and Shirley Hilderbrand and her husband Dave; her sister, Eleanor Clark; 10 grandchildren, Shannon, Shelley, Michael, David E., Brian J., Lindsay, Katelynn, Brian D., David A. and Kristy; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in the Church of the Assumption on Monday. Burial was in Allegheny County Memorial Park.
