Katherine Andrews
Katherine Daisy Peyton Andrews, 71, of Emsworth, died Saturday, July 13, 2013.
Mrs. Andrews was retired from Oliver High School, where she had been a child care and teen parent teacher. She was a member of Bethel Assembly Church, where she was a Sunday school and prayer class teacher.
She is survived by three children, Nathaniel Bruce Andrews and Lorraine Andrews, both of Pittsburgh and Tracy Finch and her husband John of Marietta, GA; three sisters, Tasha Phelps, Tamara Bryant and Kara Bryant, all of McKeesport; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two children, Bryan Andrews and Linda Alston; her parents, William and Mar Taylor Peyton Bryant; and her brother, John Peyton.Friends were received at Robert A. Waters Funeral Home, with services Saturday.
Sarah Schaffer
Sarah Frances Schaffer, 93, of Evans City, formerly of Ben Avon and wife of the late John F. Schaffer, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013 in Elmcroft of Saxonburg.
Mrs. Schaffer was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. She served in the American Legion and was a member of VFW and Valley Vets. She enjoyed sports, especially the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers.
She is survived by her daughter, Arlene Schaffer Nichols and her husband Ron of Evans City; six grandchildren, Kelly Nichols Bauman of Cranberry Township, Chad Nichols of Mars, Phil Engelmore of Bellevue, Brian Engelmore of Sharon, Jeffrey Engelmore of Emsworth and Brad Engelmore of Pittsburgh; eight great-grandchildren, Cathy Bauman, Alex E. Engelmore, Tyler Engelmore, Natalie Engelmore, Ethan Engelmore, Nikolas Engelmore, Haley Engelmore and Kamryn Engelmore; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Engelmore; her parents, Henry Warner and Margaret Graham; and her granddaughter, Brianna Bauman.
Friends were received at McDonald-Aerberli Funeral Home, Mars, until the time of services on Saturday. Burial was in Allegheny County Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, Western Region, 320 Belmar Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 15205-4620.

Rev. John Haeberle
Rev. John F. Haeberle, 78, of Ben Avon, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013.
Rev. Haeberle was a graduate of Ohio University and Drew Theological Seminary with a bachelor of divinity degree. He served as pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Avalon from 1991 until his retirement in 2000. More recently, he served as pastor of Holy Emanuel Lutheran Church, North Side, from 2000 until 2013.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Haeberle; and his son, Charles "Chuck" Haeberle and his wife Carol.
A memorial service will be held in Trinity Lutheran Church in Avalon on Monday, July 29, at 10:30 a.m. Burial was private. Memorial contributions are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church General Fund, 638 California Ave., Avalon, PA 15202. Arrangements were made by McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, Avalon.

Edward Lewis
Edward John Lewis, 36, of Ohio Township, died Friday, July 19, 2013 in Heritage Valley Sewickley.
He is survived by his daughter, Kaia Kaufold; his parents, Clarence W. Jr. and Margaret "Peggy" Ferry Lewis; his sister, Kris Liscinsky and her husband Chris of Maryland; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends were received at Richard D. Cole Funeral Home, Sewickley. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in St. Mary Church, Glenfield.

Joan Fedora
Joan Fedora of Ambridge died Monday, July 15, 2013.
She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Stephanie and Barbara Fedora; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Mary Fedora; and three brothers, Walter, Michael and George Fedora.
Friends were received at Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, North Side. A funeral service was held in St. George Ukrainian Church on Monday.

David Friend
David P. Friend, 72, husband of the late Donna J. Friend, died Friday, July 19, 2013.
Mr. Friend was a retired tow boat captain. He worked for American Power Co. for more than 40 years. He was a longtime member of Pittsburgh Revival Center.
He is survived by two daughters, Danielle and Kristina Friend, both of Sewickley.
Friends were received at the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon, until the time of services in Greater Pittsburgh Revival Center, Ross Township, on Monday.

Timothy Evans
Timothy D. Evans, 58, of Ohio Township, died Thursday, July 18, 2013.
Mr. Evans had been a police officer for Emsworth Borough and Kilbuck Township for 30 years. He also had worked as a dispatcher for Ross Township Police and the 911 dispatch center. He was a firefighter with the Emsworth Volunteer Fire Dept. for 45 years.
He is survived by three children, Timothy E. Evans of Emsworth, Jessica N. Evans of Ohio Township and Christopher D. Evans of Emsworth.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in Sacred Heart Church in Emsworth on Wednesday. Contributions are suggested to his children.

David Schnor
David Henry Schnor, 83, of Neville Island, died Friday, July 19, 2013 in UPMC Shadyside.
Mr. Schnor was a retired machinist from Pittsburgh Gear. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the steelworkers union. He enjoyed golfing and had been a Pittsburgh Steelers season ticket holder.
He is survived by three children, Terri Hilliard of Bellevue, Kris Schnor of Neville Island and Kelli Mixter of Morgantown, WV; four grandchildren, Amanda Mayer and her husband Dan, Bethany Hilliard, Daniel Paila and Marshall D. Meanor; and two great-grandchildren, Noelle and Livia Chase. He was preceded in death by his son, David "Davey" Schnor; his parents, Henry and Mary Stark Schnor; and four siblings.
Friends were received at Copeland Coraopolis Funeral Home where a blessing service was held on Wednesday with Fr. Rich Jones officiating. Military honors followed. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery.

Edward Cary Sr.
Edward Rodney Cary Sr., 84, of Cranberry Township, formerly of Avalon, died Monday, July 22, 2013 in Good Samaritan Hospice.
Mr. Cary was a past commander of American Legion Post #116 Avalon. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and retired from Billco Manufacturing in Zelienople.
He is survived by his wife, Edith Hood Cary; four children, Darlene Sansone and her husband Mark, Edward R. Cary Jr., Doreen Cary and Tami Kuny and her husband Robert; two sisters, Alice Bevington and Sandra Hart and her husband John; his step-brother, Melvin Messmer; seven grandchildren, Bill (Cary) Davis, Matthew Cary and his wife Lindsay, Mark Sansone Jr. and his wife Kristen, Brandon Cary, Gregory Sansone, Chelsea and Alysia Kuny; and three great-grandchildren, Miles Cary, Addison Sansone and Owen Cary. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Farren and Donna Towers.
Friends were received at Devlin Funeral Home, Cranberry Township, where services were held on Thursday. Burial was in Mt. Royal Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Heart Association, Butler County VA or Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford.

Carol Lloyd
Carol T. Lloyd, 79, of Ohio Township, wife of the late Orval James, died.
She is survived by her son, James Blair; and two grandchildren, Matthew and his wife Brittany and Sarah. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Leslie Sue.
There was no visitation or services. Arrangements were made by Thomas M. Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, Blawnox.

William Penberthy Sr.
William J. Penberthy Sr., 86, of Avalon, husband of the late Shirley Vickerman Penberthy, died Saturday, July 20, 2013.
Mr. Penberthy was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Greenstone United Methodist Church in Avalon, Avalon Lodge #657 F&AM and the North Boroughs Lions Club.
He is survived by two sons, John D. Penberthy and his wife Sharon and William J. Penberthy Jr.
Friends were received at McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, Avalon. Services were held in Greenstone United Methodist Church on Thursday.
