Ralph Smith
Ralph E. "Bud" Smith, 85, of Bellevue, died Monday, July 19, 2010.
Mr. Smith was a 1944 graduate of Bellevue High School and attended Pittsburgh Accountancy Academy, now Robert Morris University. He was a career life underwriter and was retired from Children's Hospital. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, past president of Avalon/Bellevue Kiwanis and a longtime member of Greenstone United Methodist Church in Avalon. He enjoyed his petunia garden.
He is survived by his wife, Ida Smith; two children, Robert Smith and his wife Karen and Lynne Lubbert and her husband Michael; his sister, Eloise; his granddaughter, Leanna Stitt; and three sisters-in-law, Martha, Ann and Ann. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Ann Smith; and three brothers-in-law, John, Fred and Walter.
Friends were received at the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon. Funeral services were held in Greenstone United Methodist Church on Wednesday. Burial was private. Lanford Pollard Jr.
Lanford Pollard Jr., 85, of Sheraden, formerly of San Jose, CA, died Sunday, July 11, 2010.
Mr. Pollard was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a Duquesne University graduate.
He is survived by five siblings, H. Wesley Pollard Sr., David W. Pollard, Leonard Pollard and his wife Vera, Arthur Pollard and his wife Donna and Sarah Dean Williams; and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lanford Sr. and Anna J. Pollard; and two siblings, Timothy Pollard and Jayne Adams.
Friends were received at Robinson Funeral Home, Perry Hilltop. A celebration of life service was held in Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Bellevue, on Saturday. Burial was in Highwood Cemetery.

Vincent Gould
Vincent Gould, 88, of Avalon, formerly of Ross Township and husband of the late Mary Claire Gould, died Thursday, July 15, 2010.
Mr. Gould was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Steamfitters Local #449 and a longtime member of Forest Avenue Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Barbara J. Bernet and her husband Richard of Moon Township and Ginny Gould of Avalon; his brother, Robert Gould; two granddaughters, Jill Covington and Sarah Farren; and two great-grandchildren, Braylon and Owen Covington. He was preceded in death by five siblings, William, George and Pete Gould, Dorothy Howe and Muriel McGowan.
Friends were received at the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon, where services were held on Saturday. Burial was in Allegheny County Memorial Park.

Mary Ingold
Mary Rita Ingold, 86, of Bellevue, wife of the late Earl G. Ingold, died Thursday, July 15, 2010.
She is survived by four children, Kevin Ingold of Crafton, Mary Pat Ingold-Tabor and her husband Chip of Reserve Township, Noreen Michalski and her husband Michael of Mt. Washington and Jeanne Strano of Knoxville, TN; her sister, Margaret Graban of Boyton Beach, FL; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Beth Ingold-Love; her parents, Owen and Ellen Lacey; and two sisters, Helen Barth and Betsey Wiley-Randolph.
Contributions are suggested to Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, 301 Bellevue Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15229. Arrangements were made by English Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Elizabeth Guest
Elizabeth Graham Guest, 91, of Brighton Heights, wife of the late George R. Guest, died Monday, July 19, 2010.
She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Guest; her brother, David Graham; two grandchildren, Darla Crowder and her husband Alfred and Shawn Hutto; and four great-grandchildren, Corey Weber-Hutto, Alisabeth, Tarah and Jessie Mae Crowder. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Thomas Graham.
