Julia Janet McGurgan
Julia Janet McGurgan of Catonsville, MD, died July 5, 2011. She was the wife of the late James H. McGurgan; She leaves four children, Joanne Edwards, Kathleen McGurgan, James McGurgan and Daniel McGurgan; a sister Dorothy Diehl; and grandchildren, Martin, Matthew, Angelee, Laura, Shaun, Justin, Megan and Lynn.
A private service will be held in Pittsburgh at a later date. Arrangements will be made by the Sterling Ashton Schwab Witzke Funeral Home of Catonsville Inc.

Helen Struver
Helen V. Szeferyniak Struver, 89, of McCandless Township, formerly of Zelienople and the North Side and wife of the late Michael D. Struver, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011.
Mrs. Struver was a former member of the Christian Mothers.
She is survived by seven children, Janis Stettner and her husband Terry, Eileen Stettner and her husband Ron A., Helene Tatton and her husband Willy, Michele Shuler and her husband Jimmy, Renee Banaszewski, Kyle Struver and Tom Schaffer and his wife Beth; two siblings, Edward Schaffer and Dorothy McCarthy; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Friends were received at Sperling Funeral Home, McCandless Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in Risen Lord Church on Saturday. Memorial contributions are suggested to Forbes Hospice, c/o Forbes Health Foundation, 2570 Haymaker Rd., Monroeville, PA 15146.

Donald Eshenbaugh Jr.
Donald Lee Eshenbaugh Jr., 63, of Ohio Township, died Thursday, July 7, 2011.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Brown O'Shea Eshenbaugh; four children, Susan White and her husband Timothy, Donald Lee Eshenbaugh III, Janine O'Shea and Sarah Radford and her husband Brian; four siblings, Virginia Barbiaux, John Earl Eshenbaugh, Gayle Wieseckel and her husband Tim and Linda Baur and her husband Richard; four grandchildren, Brendan, Garen and Clare White and Shea Radford; his former wife, Diane Eshenbaugh; his former brother-in-law, Ronald Palagyi; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Ella Ford Eshenbaugh Sr.
Friends were received at Herbert R. King Jr. Funeral Home, Allison Park. Funeral services were held in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church on Monday. Joseph Heid Sr.
Joseph H. Heid Sr., 47, of Ross Township, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011.
Mr. Heid was a former member of Plumber's Local Union #27 and formerly worked at Creative Bath and Kitchen.
He is survived by his wife, Susana Rua-Heid; seven children, Brandon, Joseph and Kara Heid, Mary Beth Klaas, Tara Carey, Billy and Breanna Klaas; his mother, Bernice H. Giannotti and her husband Alex; three siblings, Linda Heid Maloney, Sandra Heid LaRocca and John Giannotti; three grandchildren, Karlee Heid, Danny and Ronnie; and aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry C. Heid; and his granddaughter, Lilianna.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue, where services were held on Monday.
Alice Sloboda
Alice M. "Korba" Sloboda, 82, of Ohio Township, wife of the late Joseph B. Sloboda, died Friday, July 8, 2011.
She is survived by two children, Gary Sloboda and his wife Amy and Joette Harris and her husband Bill; her sister, Judy Hopey; and four grandchildren, Rebecca Theriot and her husband Scott, Marc Sloboda, Julia and Jaclyn Harris.
Friends were received at the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in Sacred Heart Church in Emsworth on Monday. Burial was in Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery.

George Hohmann
George W. Hohmann, 83, of Franklin Park, husband of the late Dora Hohmann, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011.
Mr. Hohmann had owned and operated Hohmann's Restaurant on Mt. Nebo Road in Ohio Township for several years.
He is survived by his son, Fred G. Hohmann; two sisters, Jane Leidecker and Eleanore McCaw; and his granddaughter, Katie Hohmann.
There was no visitation. Arrangements were made by H.P. Brandt Funeral Home, North Hills.

Elizabeth Davis
Elizabeth E. DeAngeles Davis, 92, of Brighton Heights, wife of the late George Thomas Davis, died Sunday, July 10, 2011.
She is survived by two daughters, Ruth Ponsonby and Carol Nabors; two granddaughters, Shana Mackie and her husband John and Rebecca Ponsonby; and two great-grandchildren, Noah and Madison Mackie.

Catherine Angeloini
Catherine M. Cerra Angeloini, 79, of the North Side died Monday, July 11, 2011.
She is survived by her husband, Dominic Angeloini; three daughters, Angie and her husband Todd, Patty and her husband Brian and Toni and her husband Jack; six grandchildren, Christina, Brandon, Nicole, Ashley, Zackery and Miranda; two great-grandchildren, Anthony and J.T.; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; and her dog, Ginger. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pasquale and Angelina Cerra; and five brothers, Felix, John, Tony, Frank and Jim.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue, where a blessing service was held on Thursday. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

John Ley
John Eugene "Jack" Ley, 86, of Bellevue, formerly of the North Side, died Sunday, July 10, 2011.
Mr. Ley was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II. He was a member of West View VFW and Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Eugene "Gene" and Marie Murray Ley; and three brothers, Tommy, Jimmy and Dick Ley.
Friends were received at Heard Funeral Home, Observatory Hill. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in Incarnation of the Lord Church on Friday. Memorials are suggested to Celtic Hospice, 150 Scharberry Lane, Morris, PA 16046.

Daniel O'Brien
Daniel J. O'Brien died Monday, July 11, 2011.
He is survived by his wife, Georgiann O'Brien; his son, David Daniel O'Brien and his wife Bella of Parsipanny, NJ; his grandson, John Daniel O'Brien; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Friends were received at Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, North Side. A funeral mass was held in St. Cyril of Alexandria Church on Friday.

Richard Stewart
Richard A. Stewart, 63, of Ohio Twp. died Monday, July 11, 2011.
Mr. Stewart was president of NIRA Consulting Engineers, Inc. He was a life member of the Ohio Township Volunteer Fire Co. and a longtime member of Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Susan DeVine Stewart; two children, William J. Stewart and his wife Sharon and Jocelyn M. Stewart; his sister, Twila J. Eddy and her husband B. Thomas; his grandson, Shawn; his niece, Jenny Kennedy; and his nephew, Chris Eddy.

Sr. M. Susanne Cherney
Sr. M. Susanne (Helen) Cherney, OSF, 84, of Mt. Assisi Convent, died Friday, July 8, 2011 in Allegheny General Hospital.
Sr. Susanne entered the School Sisters of St. Francis in 1947 and earned a bachelor of science degree in education at Carlow University then known as Mt. Mercy College. She then earned a master of arts degree in special education and counseling at Duquesne University. She earned her certification in clinical pastoral education at Kettering Hospital in Ohio and a doctorate in counseling psychology at Columbia Pacific University in San Rafael, CA. She taught grades 1-8 in several schools and at the University of Dayton in Ohio and worked as a chaplain and psychotherapist at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Most recently, she had worked at five LIFE Pittsburgh Day Health Centers including St. Benedict, Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, Sisters of St. Francis in Millvale and Kane in Ross Township and Scott Township and the Vincentian Home.
She is survived by four siblings, Veronica Metro, Eliza Amato, Emma Gregorcheck and John Cherney. She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Mary Zavotsky Cherney; and eight siblings, Isabelle Chauly, Matilda Cherney, Yolanda Cherney, William, Alex, Joseph, Steven and Albert Cherney.
Friends were received at Mt. Assisi Convent. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in Queen of Angels Chapel on Tuesday. Arrangements were made by the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue.
