Joseph R. Vacek
Joseph R. Vacek, 80, of Avalon, died Wednesday, March 29, 2017.
He was the husband of 59 years to Janice (Zajackowski) Vacek; father of Gina Funk (Jeff), Michael Vacek (Gina), Steve Vacek (Jennifer), Ann Kuszajewski (Gregg), and Frank and the late Joseph Vacek; proud Pap of 10 grandchildren; brother of Fr. Carl Vacek, Sandra Burns (Donald), and Patricia Hodgson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In his retirement, given his love for children, Joe drove a school van for W.L. Roenigk. As an accomplished musician, he performed with numerous jazz groups and composed his own works. He was passionate about the accordion, an instrument he collected, restored and played masterfully.

Robert W. Kunkel
Robert W. “Bobbo” Kunkel, 60, of Avalon, died Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was the longtime loving companion of Patty McAfee; father of Nicholette (Rich) Montini, Casey (Brian) Bonidie and Ben Kunkel; proud Pap Pap of Gia, Giada, Enzo, Dilan and Breya; brother of Mark (Evelyn) Kunkel and Paul (Becky) Kunkel; uncle of Chrissy, Mark, David, Margaret and Robert; nephew of Jinx Simon and Dave Simon; son of the late Robert E. and Mary (Simon) Kunkel.
Bob was a hard worker. He loved to golf, the outdoors and a spicy meal.
Memorial suggestions are to practice random acts of kindness in Bob's memory.

Dorothy M. (Coombs) Grosjean
Dorothy M. (Coombs) Grosjean, 90, formerly of Avalon, died in Evans City.
She was the wife of the late William John Grosjean; mother of Dorothy Spence (Daniel) of Greenville, Virginia Leibach (William) of Ross Township, Ruth Foster of Evans City and the late Betty Ann Grosjean; proud grandma of Tracy Sarver, William Swarmer, Laura Morse, Burt and Michael Leibach; also six great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
The family suggests memorial donations to Bellevue United Presbyterian Church.
