Alberta Mae Raines
Alberta Mae Raines, 86, of Emsworth, died Saturday, March 14, 2015.
She was the wife of 55 years to James L. Raines: mother of Bruce (Aline) Raines; grandmother of Emily, Karen and Claire.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 12, 2 p.m., at the Emsworth United Presbyterian Church, 73 Hiland Ave., Emsworth, PA.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or to the church in memory of Alberta Raines.

Daniel Fullerton
Daniel E. Fullerton, 63, of Zelienople, died Wednesday, March 25, 2015.
Mr. Fullerton was a member of St. Ferdinand Church in Cranberry. He was a Seneca Valley High School graduate and had attended Edinboro University. He was a line supervisor at Penn Power for 42 years. He enjoyed playing baseball, golf, cooking and traveling to England.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen Dorsch Fullerton; three children, Emily Fullerton of Pittsburgh, Ryan Fullerton and his fiancee Courtney Conlin of Zelienople and Mary Kate Fullerton of New York City; three siblings, James J. Fullerton and his wife Janet of Ohio Township, Timothy M. Fullerton and his wife Karen of Cranberry and Christine M. Miller and her husband Gary of Zelienople; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Anthony and Mary Ellen Dorsch of Cranberry; two nieces, Eva Fullerton and Caroline Miller; nine brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; 16 nieces and nephews; and a grandniece. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward D. and Helen Bukovic Fullerton; and his uncle, James J. Fullerton.
Friends were received at Boylan Funeral Home, Zelienople. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in St. Ferdinand Church on Monday. Memorial contributions are suggested to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation, c/o PNC Bank, P.O. Box 535240, Pittsburgh, PA 15253.

Leo Dunphy Jr.
Leo W. Dunphy Jr., 78, husband of the late Jean A. Sparrow Dunphy, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015.
Mr. Dunphy was retired as a 20-year Navy Chief.
He is survived by four daughters, Diane Fichter and her husband Rick, Janet Helfrich, Linda Ross and Donna Miller and her husband George; his sister, Margie Bergener and her husband Al; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Dunphy.
Friends were received at Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, North Side. A funeral mass was held in St. Cyril of Alexandria Church on Monday.

Mack McGuffey Sr.
Mack McGuffey Sr., 64, of Bonita Springs, Florida and Oakwood, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015.
Mr. McGuffey was a member of Ironworkers Local #3, F&AM Lodge #657 Avalon, honorary member of AOH and aka "The Music Man" at Bonita Springs Eagles Club.
He is survived by his wife, Mary "Mamie" Franklin McGuffey; two sons, Mack Jr. and Allan McGuffey; three siblings, Sandra Frazier, Linda Crows and Terry Cooper; a granddaughter, Maddie; and nieces and nephews.
Friends were received at Schopner McDermott Funeral Home, Crafton. Services were held in the Church of the Nativity. Memorial contributions are suggested to www.hopehospice.org.

Ruth Patton
Ruth N. Marshall Patton, 88, of Ross Township, wife of the late Irvin H. Patton Jr., died Thursday, March 26, 2015.
She is survived by two sons, William I. Patton and his wife Gerri Hanna and Kenneth J. Patton and his wife Casey; and two grandchildren, Daniel Patton and his wife Becky and Chelsea Patton.

Rev. John Skaj
Rev. John P. Skaj, C.S.Sp., 78, of Bethel Park, died Thursday, March 26, 2015.
Fr. Skaj professed his vows in 1958 at Holy Ghost Novitiate in Ridgefield, CT and was ordained in 1963 at St. Mary Seminary in Ferndale, Norwalk, CT. He was appointed associate pastor at Sacred Heart Church in Emsworth 1964-68. He then was an assistant pastor at Sr. Joseph House for Boys in Philadelphia, assistant pastor at St. Anthony Portsmouth, RI and then at St. Mary in Sharpsburg. He was appointed pastor at St. Theresa in Tiverton, RI, St. Joseph, Bay City, MI and St. Catherine of Sienna, Little Compton, RI. In 1996, he returned to Sacred Heart in Emsworth as pastor and served as a member of the Priest Council of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. In 2010, he retired to the Spiritan Community at Libermann Hall in Bethel Park, where he was the superior.
He is survived by his sister, Alice Iverson of Mandeville, LA; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Magdalene Scepaniak Skaj; and three siblings, Dorothy Skaj, Allen and Damas Skaj.
Friends were received at Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, Spiritan Center, Bethel Park and at Sacred Heart Parish in Emsworth where a mass was held on Monday. Burial was in St. Mary Cemetery, O'Hara Township. Memorial donations are suggested to a the Spiritans for Retirement or Education of Holy Spirit Fathers, 6230 Brush Run Road, Bethel Park, PA 15102.

Ronald Kirkpatrick
Ronald W. Kirkpatrick, 75, of Avalon, died Thursday, March 26, 2015.
He is survived by two siblings, Margaret Hemmrich and Frank Visgalio Jr. and his wife Kathy, all of Florida; and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Kirkpatrick, Margaret and Frank Visgalio Sr.
Services were private. Arrangements were made by the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon.

Cora Carton
Cora J. Jones Carton, 82, of Avalon, wife of the late James Robert "Bob" Carton, died Saturday, March 28, 2015.
Mrs. Carton was a member of Greenstone United Methodist Church in Avalon, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a lay teacher. She also was a member of the Women's Circle, the United Methodist Women and the Girl Scout Alumni Association.
She is survived by three siblings, Harry F. Jones Jr. and his wife Barbara, Judith Pfeffer and her husband William and Kathryn Ricketts and her husband Richard; nieces and nephews; and dear friends, the Kunert Family.

William Anderson
William J. Anderson, 47, of Brighton Heights, died Monday, March 30, 2015.
He is survived by his mother, Sue Anderson; his sister, Brenda Galarza and her husband Guillermo; his aunt, Sandra Schmiedlin and her husband John; a niece, Natalia Galarza; a nephew, Nicholas Galarza; and aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Anderson.
Friends were received at Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, North Side, where services were held on Thursday.

Jane Crossland
Jane Poole Crossland, wife of the late Albert W. Crossland, died Sunday, March 29, 2015.
Mrs. Crossland was a Bellevue High School graduate and had worked at Screw and Bolt. She was a volunteer at Suburban General Hospital and was a member of Little Hill United Methodist Church in Franklin Park.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet Frey Crossland and her companion Alvin Eck and Carol C. Leister; her sister, Joann Thomas; two granddaughters, Christine Leister and Megan L. Bever and her husband David J.; and two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Michael Bever. She was preceded in death by her parents, Correll J. and Florence Poole; and two brothers, Joseph and Justin Poole.
A celebration of life service will be held in Little Hill Methodist Church on May 16, 2015 at 10 a.m. Donations are suggested to her church at 2350 Magee Rd. Ext., Sewickley, PA 15243. Arrangements were made by McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, Avalon.

Gerald Ritchey Sr.
Gerald L. Ritchey Sr., 87, of Neville Island, died Tuesday, March 31, 2015 in Ohio Valley Hospital.
Mr. Ritchey was a member of the Coraopolis Church of the Nazarene. He had worked as a plumber and at Standard Steel Specialty.
He is survived by his wife, Elma Hill Ritchey; two children, Gerald L. Ritchey Jr. and his wife Ginny of Avalon and Debra Fawley and her husband Bob of Coraopolis; three siblings, Leila Worheit of Ligonier, Leona Chamberlin and her husband Rev. Donald of Butler, PA and James Ritchey and his wife Carol of Hopewell; four grandchildren, Brenda Burke and her husband Rev. Brian, Amy Walsh and her husband Pat, Joshua Fawley and his wife Jenifer and Heather Fawley; nine great-grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Bill Garva Sr.; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. James and Margaret Heffner Ritchey; and two sisters, Velma Goering and Helen Mixter.
Friends will be received at Copeland's Coraopolis Funeral Horne and Coraopolis Church of the Nazarene until the time of services on Friday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow with military honors in Coraopolis Cemetery. Donations are suggested to his church at 386 Shafer Rd., Coraopolis, PA15108.

Shirley Sterling
Shirley Yvonne Sterling, 71, of Brighton Heights, died Thursday, March 5, 2015.
Friends were received at Robinson Funeral Home, Perry Hilltop. A celebration of life service was held in Lamb of God, Lion of Judah Church, Observatory Hill, on Saturday. Burial was in Highwood Cemetery.

George Sestrich
George S. Sestrich, 93, died Thursday, March 12, 2015.
Mr. Sestrich was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of VFW Summit Post #7090, Troy Hill Elks #339, Regina Elena Italian Club, Sharpsburg, North Side AARP #4215 and other clubs. He worked at E.L. Wiegand for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Isabel M. Aiello Sestrich; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four siblings, Anton Sestrich and his wife Frances,, Joseph Sestrich and his wife Helen, Ann Frankovich and her husband John and Katherine Sestrich.
Friends were received at Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, North Side. A funeral mass was held in St. Cyril of Alexandria Church on Monday.

Alice Forrest
Alice Elizabeth Forrest, wife of the late Dr. Edward J. Forrest Sr., died Monday, March 23, 2015.
Mrs. Forrest was a member of St. James Church in Sewickley and the Women's Club of Sewickley.
She is survived by three children, Edward J. Forrest Jr. and his wife Lanet of Marietta, GA, Cynthia Forrest of Washington, DC and Dr. Thomas D. Forrest Sr. and his wife Diane of Ben Avon; her sister, Carolyn Dennerlein; three grandsons, Thomas D. Forrest Jr and his wife Christine, Edward J. Forrest III and John Edward Forrest; and a great-granddaughter, Juliet Forrest. She was preceded in death by two siblings, Angela Harris and Stephen.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held in St. James Church on Wednesday with Fr. Thomas J. Burke the celebrant. Burial was in Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to Edward J. Forrest Continuing Education Center at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Arrangements were made by Copeland Funeral Home, Sewickley.
