Sidionia Hellerman
Sidionia C. Roose Hellerman, 89, of Avalon, wife of the late Allen A. Hellerman, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010.
She is survived by three children, Edward P. Hellerman and his wife Marcia, Marie E. Griffin and her husband Harry and Allen B. Hellerman and his wife Barbara; her brother, Richard Roose; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four siblings, Benjamin, John and Joseph Roose and Margaret Bordt.
Friends were received at Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, North Side, where services were held on Saturday. Contributions are suggested to Forest Avenue Presbyterian Church, 898 Forest Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15202.

Regis Schmidt
Regis "Paul" Schmidt, 53, of West View, formerly of Bellevue, died Saturday, April 17, 2010.
He is survived by his brother, Jack Schmidt and his wife Beverly; extended family, Al, Judy and Bill Chamberlain and his wife Gretchen; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Margaret Schmidt.
Friends were received at the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon, where services were held on Thursday. Burial was in Allegheny County Memorial Park. Memorials contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 15205.

Lois Wherry
Lois M. Dominytus Wherry of Emsworth died Saturday, April 17, 2010.
She is survived by her husband, Dwight S. Wherry; five children, Kathleen Pisciuneri, Dwight Wherry Jr., Shreve Wherry, Cynthia Martin and Benjamin Grimaldi; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, Avalon, where services were held on Thursday.

James Mathie
James J. Mathie, 97, of Avalon, died Monday, April 12, 2010.
Mr. Mathie was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II, having served in the 8th Army. He was a member of American Legion Post #116, VFW Post #2454 and a life member of Knights of Columbus, Bellevue Council #1400.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Mohr Mathie; two sons, Roger Mathie and his wife Laura of Shakopee, MN and James J. Mathie II and his wife Laura of McCandless; three grandsons, Roger, Mike and Josh Mathie; and three great-granddaughters, Lauren, Clara and Holly. He was preceded in death by three siblings, Nellie Mathie, Michael O'Donnell Jr. and Maureen Fox.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in the Church of the Assumption on Saturday. Memorial contributions are suggested to his church at 45 N. Sprague Ave., Bellevue, PA 15202.

Charles Schultz
Charles P. "Chuck" "Buddy" Schultz of Avalon died Sunday, April 18, 2010.
Mr. Schultz was retired from McConway and Turley, where he was a metal pattern maker. He was the financial secretary for Amity Lodge #45 and a longtime member of the Church of the Assumption.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanie Lucarelli Schultz; two children, Jeanie Paleos and her husband George and Charles Schultz and his wife Tracy; four grandchildren, Lee, Christopher, Chuckie and Jacob; and his great-grandson, Lawrence "Little Buddy." He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marie Schultz.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in the Church of the Assumption on Thursday.

Margaret Spratt
Margaret I. Spratt, 80, of Ben Avon, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010.
Mrs. Spratt had attended art school late in life and shared her talent with children at Holy Family Institute in Emsworth.
She is survived by her husband, Donald L. Spratt; four children, William Bell and his wife Chris, Tina Kruczkowski and her husband Paul, Donna Spratt and Kara Hoff and her husband Rich; and 10 grandchildren, Donny, Rachel, Laura, Brittany, Christina, Oliver, Ava, Jessica, Richard and Lauren.

Anna Sutterlin
Anna C. Pcola Sutterlin of the North Side, wife of the late Herman O. Sutterlin, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010.
She is survived by five children, Mary Ann Fischer and her husband Harry of Oakdale, Helen A. Fisher and her husband Jerry of Castle Shannon, William A. Sutterlin and his wife Mary of Cranberry, Dorothy A. Vardzel and her husband Paul of Harmony and Lou Ann White and her husband Emerson of Ohio Township.; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Herman A. Sutterlin and his wife Martha; her parents, John Pcola and Agnes Jugan; and four siblings, Joseph Pcola, Mary Grunow, William Pcola and Dorothy Markovich.

Helen Madden
Helen Madden of Brighton Heights died Saturday, April 17, 2010.
Mrs. Madden initiated the First Nutrition Center for seniors at Providence Church. She co-managed the Riverview Manor highrise.
She is survived by her husband, Clyde C. Madden; two children, Linda Jean Dewsnap and her husband Richard and David Madden and his wife Heidi; her daughter-in-law, Colleen Madden; seven grandchildren, Richard, Brian, David Jr., Jamie, Kevin, Bridget and Joshua; and three great-grandchildren, Naithan, Trace and Brody. She was preceded in death by her son, Clyde C. Madden.
Friends were received at Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, North Side, where services were held on Tuesday.

Thomas Walworth
Thomas Lincoln Walworth, 86, of the North Hills, formerly of Ben Avon and husband of the late Jane Moore Walworth, died Thursday, April 8, 2010.
Mr. Walworth was a 1941 graduate of Avonworth High School and attended Union College in Schenectady, NY where he received his bachelor of science degree in 1948. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a flight navigator before returning to college for his degree. He acquired the JR Fuller Co. and renamed it Material Handling Specialties and the company moved to Penn Avenue in Pittsburgh. He retired in 1988 and sold his business to his employees. He was active in community and charitable organizations such as Meals On Wheels.
He is survived by four children, Laura Walworth and her husband Dan Hill of Brooklyn, NY, Norene Walworth and her husband Rob Capaldi of Ross Township, Dan Walworth and his wife Hilary Kliros of Brooklyn and Jack Walworth and his wife Dorothy Low of Glendale, CA; his brother, Keyes Walworth and his wife Christy of Alexandria, VA; and six grandchild-ren, Leigh Hill, Felix Walworth, Lotte Walworth, Emily Walworth, Elena and Peter Capaldi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Lincoln and Norene Keyes Walworth; and his sister, Joanne Turpin.
There was no visitation, and a private memorial service will be held later. Arrangements were made by Devlin Funeral Home, North Hills.

Mary Rost
Mary H. Wildauer Rost of Pittsburgh, wife of the late Fred H. Rost, died Sunday, April 18, 2010.
She is survived by six children, Mary Lynn Lofink and her husband Jack, Elizabeth Ann Waselko and her husband John, Fred M. Rost and his wife Debbie, Jean M. Schmitt and her husband Hal, Carol L. Horn and her husband Gary and Jo Anne Stevenson and her husband Harley of Arizona; three brothers, Edward, Frank Jr. and Thomas Wildauer; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at Little Sisters of the Poor, Brighton Heights, where a funeral mass was held in the home chapel on Wednesday. Memorials are suggested to Little Sisters of the Poor, 1028 Benton Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15212. Arrangements were made by O'Brien Funeral Home, North Side.

Salvatore Mineo
Salvatore A. "Sam" Mineo, 50, of Brighton Heights, died Monday, April 12, 2010.
He is survived by dear friends, Carl Cantella and his wife Eileen of Glenshaw, Richard Cantella and his wife Valerie of San Antonio, TX, Michael J. Cantella Jr. and his wife Brenda of Live Oak, FL, Mary Ann Corso and her husband Gus of Brighton Heights and Diane Cantella of Gibsonia; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Salvatore and Marian Gardino Mineo; his godparents, Mike and Ann Cantella; and seven aunts and uncles, Stella Primola, Rose Colechia,Sarah Hardrecky, Frances Lisanti, Carl Mineo, Angie Salera and Helen Mineo.
There was no visitation. A funeral mass was held in Risen Lord Church on Saturday. Arrangements were made by Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, North Side.

Eugene D'Amico
Eugene P. D'Amico, 85, of McCandless, formerly of Ross Township and Washington County, died Saturday, April 17, 2010.
Mr. D'Amico was a retired vice president of research and development at Neville Chemical. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Chemical Society.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores D'Amico; two daughters, Wendy Hendricks and her husband Joseph and Theresa Villanueva and her husband Jose; and three grandchildren, Joseph Jr., Meghan and Amy Cate Hendricks.

Robert Luckan
Robert E. Luckan, 87, of Ross Township, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010.
Mr. Luckan was a veteran of World War II, having served in the 34th Infantry. He received the Purple Heart. He was retired from the Veterans Administration in Pittsburgh.
He is survived by his wife, Helen A. Schoen Luckan; two children, Robert E. Luckan Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Ambridge and Nancy Pollack and her husband Bob of Ross; two siblings, Roy M. Luckan of Moon Township and Margaret R. Koll of Bellevue; four grandchildren, Stephanie, Lewis, Lisa and Stacy; and three great-grandchildren, Kylie, Chloe and Delaney.
