James Malloy
James Regis Malloy, 94, of Emsworth, died Monday, April 6, 2015.
Mr. Malloy was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was retired from Duquesne Light Co. after 44 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy R. Gastner Malloy; and three children, Bonnie Bass and her husband James, Diane Barr and her husband James and Ronald Regis Malloy. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sister Mary Sheila Malloy.
There was no visitation and services and burial were private. Arrangements were made by the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon.

Frances Doerschner
Frances A. "Fran" Doerschner, 95, of Dormont, died Thursday, April 9, 2015.
Mrs. Doerschner was a graduate of Masontown, WV High School and earned a bachelor's degree in English and library science at West Virginia University. She worked as a school librarian and English teacher in West Virginia. In the 1940s, she worked for the West Virginia Library Commission to provide books to libraries throughout West Virginia. In 1946, she earned a master's degree in library science at Carnegie Institute of Technology, now CMU. She worked part-time as a reference clerk at Carnegie Library. Later, she worked as a school librarian at Prospect Junior High School in Mt. Washington. She was president of the Dormont New Century Women's Club and a member of the Dormont College Club. She also was a member of Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church for 61 years and participated in the church circle. She volunteered as a librarian at St. Bernard Grade School. She was an avid reader.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Doerschner; her son, Rob Doerschner of Alexandria, VA; her brother, Don Doerschner and his wife Bernigene of Bellevue; five nieces and nephews, Christy Matheny and her husband Mark of Morgantown,WV, Nancy Dunn and her husband Bob of Fairmont, WV, Ed Doerschner of Mars, Conni Wilson and her husband Lloyd of Ross Twp. and Nancy Haupt and her husband Dave of Dover, DE; grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews; and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lando and Bess; her sister, Mary and her husband Sam; and her brother-in-law, Norman.
Friends were received at Laughlin Memorial Chapel, Mt. Lebanon. A funeral service was held in Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church on Monday. Burial was in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to her church at 3319 West Liberty Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15216.

Mary Frances Scholl
Mary Frances Teufel Scholl, 101, of Pittsburgh, wife of the late Joseph W. Scholl, died Wednesday,April 8, 2015.
Mrs. Scholl had been a Pittsburgh Public Schools teacher. She taught at Clayton Elementary School, North Side. She was a member of St. Cyril of Alexandria Church. She enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by 10 stepchildren, Sheila A. Hauer of Margate, FL, Mary Jane Byerly of Pittsburgh, Susan F. Giebel and her husband Edward of Gibsonia, Donna Elaine Halferty and her husband James of Latrobe, Richard J. Scholl and his wife Catherine of Bryn Mawr, PA, Margot A. Bernabo and her husband Donald of Franklin Park, Mark B. Scholl of Pittsburgh, Nora Muchow and her husband Richard of Shaler, Janice E. Knauss and her husband Kenneth of Pittsburgh and Robert D. Scholl and his wife Paulette of Pittsburgh; 21 step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis Jacob and Mary Elizabeth McElligott Teufel; and three siblings, James Alexander, Margaret Agatha and Gertrude Elizabeth Teufel. Friends were received at O'Brien Funeral Home, North Side. A funeral mass was held in St. Cyril of Alexandria Church on Saturday. Burial was private. Margaret Macel
Margaret "Marge" Macel, 90, wife of the late William "Bill" Macel, died Thursday, April 9, 2015.
Mrs. Macel was a 1945 graduate of St. John School of Nursing and was a registered nurse for more than 60 years.
She is survived by three children, Daniel Macel and his wife Margaret, Janet Verner and her husband Edward and Thomas Macel and his wife Nancy; five grandchildren, Michael, Ryan, Emily, Sean and Joshua; and three great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Nora and Violet. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard Sr. and Helen Scheid; and four siblings, Bernard Scheid Jr.,Geraldine Matesic, George Scheid and Mary Lou Amsden.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in the Church of the Assumption on Monday. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.

Lillian Shamot
Lillian E. Shamot, 90, of McCandless Township, formerly of Bellevue and wife of the late Peter M. Shamot, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015.
Mrs. Shamot had worked as a telephone operator at Suburban General Hospital for 25 years. She was a longtime volunteer at Passavant Hospital and she coordinated events for her local AARP chapter. She bowled weekly for 75 years with her bowling group. She enjoyed traveling to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, Greece, Croatia and Italy.
She is survived by two children, Bill Shamot and his wife Mary Ann of Ben Avon and Diane Liberto of Mt. Lebanon; two sisters, Millie Betzig and Dorothy Parks; five grandchildren, Angelica, Brieanna, Nicoletta and her husband Josh, Dominque and her husband Joe and Peter; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three siblings, Elsie Crossen, Chuck Berger and John Berger.

Rosemary Van Cura
Rosemary Van Cura, 87, of Ingomar, wife of the late Dale James Van Cura, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015.
Mrs. Van Cura was a member of Christ Church at Grove Farm. She was an avid knitter and one of the founding partners of Yarns Unlimited in Sewickley.
She is survived by six children, Kate Dresher of Denver, CO, Mary Beth Van Cura and her husband Richard E.L. Henderson of Wexford, Susan A. Murray and her husband David I. Of Skaneateles, NY, Mark J. Van Cura of McCandless, Dean F. Van Cura of Livermore, CA and Paul D. Van Cura of New York, NY; her sister, Marlene Goslawski of Pittsburgh; five grandchildren, David Drescher, Nicole Murray, Rosemary Tozzi, Chloe Van Cura and Ella Van Cura; and four great-grandchildren, Mia, Ashlyn, James and Annia.

Maxine Hartwig
Maxine Chickering Hartwig, 86, of Bellevue, died Thursday, April 9, 2015.
Mrs. Hartwig was a graduate of Miami University of Ohio and had worked for Gulf Oil Corp./Chevron as an executive secretary. She was a longtime member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Daughters of the King and the Suburban General Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Roy T. Hartwig; two children, Roy C. Hartwig and his wife Gina of Enola, PA and Susan M. Hartwig Collins and her husband Jimmy of Florence, SC; and four grandchildren, Nathan, Jacob, Andrew and Hannah Hartwig. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles C. and Nellie Mae George Chickering.
Friends were received at Schellhaas Funeral Home, West View. Services were held in All Saints Episcopal Church on Tuesday. Burial was in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Donations are suggested to her church at 3577 McClure Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15212.

Marie Knox
Marie Kathryn Jacobs Knox, 74, of Twinsburg, OH, formerly of the North Boroughs, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Knox Curtis and her husband Mark; two siblings, Dianne Jacobs Reilly and Robert Jacobs; three grandchildren, Taylor Curtis, Mark "Manny" Curtis and Tiffany Knox. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Jacobs.
Following a celebration of life service, burial was in North Side Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Blessing-Hine Funeral Home.

David Rothermund
David Allen Rothermund, 73, formerly of Glenshaw, died Saturday, March 28, 2015 in Melbourne, FL.
Mr. Rothermund was a Bellevue High School graduate. He was a retired U.S. Army veteran. He was a service representative for Man Roland, Inc. and a technician at Miller Printing Equipment Corp. He was a longtime member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jacklyn Rothermund; two children, Beth Rothermund of Pittsburgh and Michael Rothermund and his wife Brandy; and three grandchildren, Tyler, Jordan and Nathan of Ashburn,VA.
Friends were received at Neely Funeral Home, Glenshaw. Burial was in Melrose Cemetery, Bridgeville, PA.

Audrey Wiebe
Audrey Marion Elder Lund Wiebe, 85, of Masonic Village Sewickley, formerly of Shaler, died Saturday, March 28, 2015.
Mrs. Wiebe was an avid photographer and enjoyed traveling. She was a secretarial school graduate.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Wiebe; two children, Jeffrey B. Lund of Conneaut Lake, PA and Leslie Chambers and her husband Thomas of Shaler; two stepsons, Chuck Wiebe and his wife Beverly of Ohio Township and Rev. John Wiebe and his wife Cynthia of McCandless; and step-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Erling Lund; and her parents, Benjamin and Anna Elder.
A memorial service was held in Masonic Village Sewickley on Wednesday with Rev. Tim Reichard officiating. Arrangements were made by Copeland Funeral Home, Sewickley.

Mary Jane DiSalvo
Mary Jane DiSalvo, 90, of Brighton Heights, died Saturday, April 11, 2015.
She is survived by her daughter, Marianne Reid and her husband Michael of Plum Boro; and two grandchildren, Mary Beth and Daniel Reid. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles "Pat" and Teresa DeSensi; her sister, Anna Oslund; and her granddaughter, Angela Reid.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held in Our Lady of Joy Church, Plum, PA on Tuesday. Arrangements were made by Thomas L. Neid Funeral Home, Swissvale.

Robert Jarzynka
Robert A. Jarzynka, 71, of Bellevue, died Saturday, April 11, 2015.
He is survived by three children, Jeffrey, Michael and Jill Jarzynka; and his brother, John Jarzynka. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Agnes Walkowski Jarzynka.

Alba Mirasole
Alba Mirasole of Pittsburgh died Saturday, April 11, 2015.
She is survived by her husband, Sam Mirasole; her sister, Stella Cusano; and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by four siblings, Joseph Primola, Stephen Primola, Victor Primola and Angelina Pack.

Edward Rush
Edward F. Rush, 93, of Sheraden, husband of the late Dorothy Willis Rush, died Sunday, April 12, 2015.
Mr. Rush was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked at F.J. Fuchs Heating Services for many years. He was a Mason in Avalon Lodge F&AM #657 and a member of the Bellevue Royal Arts Chapter #286 and an honorary member of Crafton Volunteer Fire Dept. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Crafton.
He is survived by two sons, Edward R. Rush and Joseph V. Rush and his wife Peggy; his daughter-in-law, Anita Rush; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three children, Ruth A. Smith, Thomas J. Rush and William A. Rush; his daughter-in-law, Louise Rush; and two siblings,, Robert Rush and Vera Boyer.
Friends were received at Schepner-McDermott Funeral Home, Crafton. Services were held in First Baptist Church of Crafton. Burial was with full military honors. Donations are suggested to the Wounded Warriors Project, 301 Grant St., Suite 900, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.

Gertrude Makepeace
Gertrude L. Makepeace, wife of the late Robert B. Makepeace Sr., died Tuesday, April 14, 2015.
She is survived by three children, Robert B. Makepeace Jr. and his wife Nancy, Richard A. Makepeace and hi wife Diana and Ginny Goehring and her husband Dan; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Chereck and Martha Walsh.
Friends were received at Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, North Side. A funeral mass will be held in St. Cyril of Alexandria Church today, Friday, at 9:30 a.m.

Doris Mundell
Doris D. Mundell, 82, of Neville Island, wife of the late F. Wilson Mundell, died.
Mrs. Mundell was a member of Christ Church at Grove Farm. She enjoyed reading, Steelers football, and going to the casinos. She also enjoyed her dog and cats.
She is survived by six children, Ronald Mundell and his wife Sandy of IN, Thomas Mundell of HI, Gregory Mundell and his wife Carol of Neville Island, Darrolyn Hutchinson, Lisa Moore and Stacy Lee, all of Coraopolis; two siblings, Michelle Grey and her husband Dan of Aliquippa and Regis Gillum of Neville Island; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Peter Gillum.
