Lynn Searight Jr.
Lynn R. Searight, 83, of the North Side, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne M. Searight; four children, Lee and Tim Searight, Lisa M. Blauch and her husband Victor and Sherri L. Searight-McKinney and her husband Bob, all of Pittsburgh; two siblings, William F. Searight and his wife Virginia and Geraldine M. Searight; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.
Friends were received at McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, Avalon, where a blessing service was held on Friday.

Vernon Connell
Vernon T. Connell, 89, of West View, died Friday, April 5, 2013.
Mr. Connell was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a technical sergeant with the Headquarters Company, 106th Infantry Division, serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He received many decorations and citations, including two Bronze Stars.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine Dobson Connell; his son, Vernon P. Connell; three siblings, Porter Rickley, Ronald Rickley and Marlene Cernansky; and nieces and nephews.
There was no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in the Church of the Assumption on Tuesday. Burial with military honors was in Allegheny County Memorial Park. Contributions are suggested to his church at 45 N. Sprague Ave., Bellevue, PA 15202. Arrangements were made by the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue.

Aaron Kane
Aaron T. Kane died Friday, April 5, 2013.
He is survived by his mother, Pierrette M. Baier Kane; his grandmother, Marie Roland Kane; two siblings, Peter T. Kane and Bridgette M. Kane and her husband Zach Nicholson; uncle of Laila J. and Mason T. Nicholson; and aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Timothy J. Kane; and his grandparents, William Kane, Harry and Myra McClelland Baier.
Friends were received at O'Brien Funeral Home, North Side. A funeral mass was held in Sacred Heart Church in Emsworth on Tuesday. Memorial contributions are suggested to Western PA Humane Society, 1101 Western Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15233.

Jessie Zotter
Jessie C. Zotter, 92, of Ben Avon, wife of the late Walter J. Zotter Sr., died Friday, April 5, 2013.
Mrs. Zotter was a registered nurse and was retired from Suburban General Hospital, where she was a volunteer after her retirement.
She is survived by four sons, Randy Zotter and his wife Leslie Ward, Paul Zotter and his wife Nina, Craig Zotter and John Zotter and his wife Amy; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Jordan, Marcus, Findlay, Jack, Mitchell and Maggie; and a great-granddaughter, Emma. She was preceded in death by two children, Walter J. Zotter Jr. and Ann Dimling.
Friends were received at McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, Avalon. A memorial service was held in Community Presbyterian Church of Ben Avon on Thursday.

Colleen Czapko
Colleen Patricia Czapko, 61, of Bellevue, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Czapko; two children, Brian and Emily Czapko; her mother Beatrice Hackett; two siblings, John Hackett and his wife Cindi and Melissa House and her husband Mark; her grandson, Calvin Czapko; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, John Hackett.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in the Church of the Assumption today, Friday, at 10 a.m.

John Thomas
John Matthew Thomas, 72, of Glenshaw, formerly of Avalon, died Sunday, April 7, 2013.
Mr. Thomas was a 1959 graduate of Avalon High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force, Air Police Division, for four years. He worked as a territory manager for US Steel. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He was an avid golfer, cribbage player and enjoyed fishing, watching old westerns and was a Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State fan.
He is survived by his wife, Sally Schimelpfenig Thomas; two daughters, Jennifer Winter and her husband Timothy of Fairfax, VA and Amanda Thomas and her husband Kim of Halifax, Nova Scotia; his sister, Faith Helbling; his nieces; and granddogs, Lucia and Lilith. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Michael and Elizabeth Aire Thomas.
There was no visitation. A funeral service will be held in Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Glenshaw on Saturday, April 13, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Royal Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to Open Arms Worldwide, P.O. Box 298, Centreville, VA 20122. Arrangements were made by Neely Funeral Home, Glenshaw.
