Hedwig Richard
Hedwig N. "Heddy" Richard, 90, formerly of Ben Avon and Ross Township and wife of the late Edward C. Richard, died Monday, March 30, 2015.
Mrs. Richard was a 1942 graduate of Allegheny High School. She was one of the first women to sell real estate in the North Hills Multilist and had earned top sales person for several years during her 27-year career. She enjoyed garage sales and playing Wheel of Fortune with her grandsons.
She is survived by two children, Jill E. Nagel of Omaha, NE and Mark E. Richard and his wife Polly of Columbus, OH; two sisters, Erna Schaal and Wilma Stewart; four grandsons, Zachary V. Willis, Christopher R. Nagel, Eric C. Richard and Michael A. Richard; and two great-grandsons, Dracen Milos and Christian Nagel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Natalie Gutkuhn; and three siblings, Hugo and Herbert Gutkuhn and Renetta Gutkuhn Wind.
Friends were invited to a committal service in Allegheny County Memorial Park on Saturday.

Michael Totin
Michael A. "Totes" Totin, 55, of Ross Township, died Tuesday, March 31, 2015.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Totin; two children, Melissa and Michael; three brothers, Thomas S. and his wife M.J., John M. and James G. Totin and his wife Joanne; his brother-in-law, Joseph R. Mrzlack and his wife Janet; 13 nieces and nephews, James, Margaret, Bryan, Amy, Stephanie, Corie, Steven, Gabriel, Brandon, Cody, Jessica, Sara and Dakota; and dear friend and caregiver, Jesse Turner. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela; his mother, Margaret Totin; and his brother-in-law, Michael A. Mrzlack.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in the Church of the Assumption on Monday. Memorials are suggested to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1501 Reedsdale St., Suite 105, Pittsburgh, PA 15233.

Helen Bummer
Helen M. Bummer, 90, of Richland Township, formerly of Avalon and wife of the late George J. Bummer, died Friday, April 3, 2015.
Mrs. Bummer had been a librarian for US Steel and Mellon Bank. She was a member of the Church of the Assumption.
She is survived by two children, Jeffrey Bummer and his wife Julie of Valencia, PA and Mary Joan Fitzgerald and her husband Ralph of Alexandria, PA; two siblings, Mary Fitzgerald and her husband Robert of Trenton, NJ and Paul l Merriman of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, Kirk Bummer, James Bummer and his wife Judy, Kelly Fitzgerald and Erin Martinez and her husband Mark; and a great-granddaughter, Sophia Martinez. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Bummer; and her sister, Madeleine White.
Friends were received at McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Mars, PA, where a blessing service was held on Tuesday. Burial was in Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery.

Mary Hill
Mary Janet Hill, 82, of Kilbuck Township, died Tuesday, March 31, 2015.
Ms. Hill was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America for more than 40 years. She worked at Bell Telephone Co. for 35 years.
She is survived by a dear friend, Betty Lou Mell; her sister-in-law, Maureen Elizabeth Kopnicky and her husband Jack; five nephews, Richard C. Hill and his wife Michelle, Michael P. Hill and his wife Sun, Steven J. Hill and his wife Carol, Scott A. Hill and his partner Richard and Douglas W. Hill and his wife Betty; and nine grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Charles Sr. and Margaret Mary Stebler Hill; two brothers, Harry Charles Hill Jr. And William George Oliver Hill.
There was no visitation. A memorial mass will be held in Sacred Heart Church in Emsworth on Saturday, April 25, at 11:30 a.m. Memorials are suggested to Little Sisters of the Poor, 1028 Benton Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15212. Arrangements were made by the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue.

Geraldine Searight
Geraldine M. "Gerri" Searight, 63, of Brighton Heights, died Thursday, April 2, 2015.
Ms. Searight was a licensed practical nurse at Allegheny General Hospital and worked at Three Rivers Imaging as an ultrasound technician. She was a member of Risen Lord Church and a volunteer for Catholic Charities.
She is survived by three children, Matthew, Joe and Kaira Searight; two brothers, William F. Searight and his wife Virginia and Ralph Searight; her sister-in-law, Joanne Searight; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lynn and Johanna Madl Searight; and her brother, Lindley Searight.
Friends were received at McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, Avalon. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in Risen Lord Church on Tuesday. Michael Neff
Michael W. Neff, 58, of Brighton Heights, died Tuesday, March 31, 2015.
He is survived by his wife, Tara Ellen Neff; his daughter, Heather Neff; and a grandchild, Taylor Lee Kozeak. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Agnes Lee Neff.
There was no visitation and services and burial were private. Arrangements were made by Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, North Side.

Roberta Leitch
Roberta Llewelyn Leitch, 76, of Brighton Heights, wife of the late Calvin J. Leitch Sr., died Friday, April 3, 2015.
Mrs. Leitch was a member of North Hills Chapter #526 Order of the Eastern Star and Riverview United Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by three siblings, Johanna Paff and her husband Dick, William Llewelyn and his wife Louise and Margaret Shaw; sister-in-law of June and Robert Brill. She was the aunt of Linette Ammer and her husband Tom, Patti Weber and her husband Pat and Becky Brunger and her husband Dave; and leaves other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Calvin J. Leitch Jr.; her brother, David Llewelyn; and her nephew, Robert Brill Jr.
Friends were received at Heard Funeral Home, Observatory Hill, where services were held on Wednesday. Memorials are suggested to her church at 3505 Perrysville Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15214.

John Flaherty
John D. Flaherty, 66, of Springfield, VA died Tuesday, April 7, 2015.
Mr. Flaherty worked for the Dept. of Defense in the U.S. Army for 35 years. He also worked in Frankfurt, Germany in the 1980s and as a supervisor auditor in the Washington, DC area, including Ft. Belvoir,VA and the Pentagon.
He is survived by two siblings, Linda M. Holtman and her husband Richard and Raymond Flaherty and his wife Francine; two aunts, Mary Ann Protolipac and Jean Redmerski; his brother-in-law, Gary Grgic; seven nieces and nephews, Robert Sula, Daniel Sula, Denine Waitt, Heather Holtman, Roxanne Malus, Shaun Daniel Flaherty and Dr. Mary Catherine Flaherty-Sabey; and grandnieces and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John D. "Mickey" and Catherine Primorac Flaherty; and his sister, Karen Grgic.
Friends were received at O'Brien Funeral Home, North Side. A funeral mass was held in St. Cyril of Alexandria Church today, Friday, at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in North Side Catholic Cemetery.

Shirley Sterling
Shirley Yvonne Sterling, 71, of Brighton Heights, died Thursday, March 5, 2015.
Friends were received at Robinson Funeral Home, Perry Hilltop. A celebration of life service was held in Lamb of God, Lion of Judah Church, Observatory Hill, on Saturday. Burial was in Highwood Cemetery.

George Sestrich
George S. Sestrich, 93, died Thursday, March 12, 2015.
Mr. Sestrich was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of VFW Summit Post #7090, Troy Hill Elks #339, Regina Elena Italian Club, Sharpsburg, North Side AARP #4215 and other clubs. He worked at E.L. Wiegand for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Isabel M. Aiello Sestrich; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four siblings, Anton Sestrich and his wife Frances,, Joseph Sestrich and his wife Helen, Ann Frankovich and her husband John and Katherine Sestrich.
Friends were received at Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, North Side. A funeral mass was held in St. Cyril of Alexandria Church on Monday.

Alice Forrest
Alice Elizabeth Forrest, wife of the late Dr. Edward J. Forrest Sr., died Monday, March 23, 2015.
Mrs. Forrest was a member of St. James Church in Sewickley and the Women's Club of Sewickley.
She is survived by three children, Edward J. Forrest Jr. and his wife Lanet of Marietta, GA, Cynthia Forrest of Washington, DC and Dr. Thomas D. Forrest Sr. and his wife Diane of Ben Avon; her sister, Carolyn Dennerlein; three grandsons, Thomas D. Forrest Jr and his wife Christine, Edward J. Forrest III and John Edward Forrest; and a great-granddaughter, Juliet Forrest. She was preceded in death by two siblings, Angela Harris and Stephen.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held in St. James Church on Wednesday with Fr. Thomas J. Burke the celebrant. Burial was in Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to Edward J. Forrest Continuing Education Center at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Arrangements were made by Copeland Funeral Home, Sewickley.
