Joan Weaver
Joan R. Weaver of Bellevue died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012.
Mrs. Weaver was retired from Children and Youth Services of Allegheny County.
She is survived by two children, Kelly P. Weaver and Shannon L. Weaver-Zablo; three brothers, Arthur J., Thomas A. and his wife Debbie and Wayne C. Rosenfelder and his wife JoAnn; six grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Jocelyn and her husband Weaver, Chelsea, Noah, Caleb and Christian Zablo; and a great-granddaughter, Izabella Mares.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue, where services were held on Monday. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Susan G. Koman for the Cure, 1133 S. Braddock Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15218.

Helen Wojichowski
Helen T. Benko Wojichowski, 93, wife of the late Walter Wojichowski, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012.
Mrs. Wojichowski was a member of the Catholic War Veterans at St. Gabriel Church, the I.S.D.A. and the American War Veterans Auxiliary.
She is survived by three children, Walter Wojichowski and his wife Carol, William Wojichowski and his wife Leona and Helen Shamonsky and her husband Joe; two sisters, Pauline Simko and Sue Banas; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Elizabeth Benko.
Friends were received at Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, North Side. A funeral mass was held in Risen Lord Church on Tuesday.

Linda Dennis
Linda L. Dennis, 64, of Avalon died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012.
She is survived by her daughter, Kelli Oliverio and her husband Mario of Ross Township; her sister, Barbara Verrico and her husband Roland; three grandchildren, Domenic, Victoria and Rocco Oliverio; and her niece and nephew, Brooke and Michael Verrico. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Dorothy Conoway Dennis.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue, until the time of a blessing service on Tuesday. Burial was private.

Thomas Phillips Jr.
Thomas L. Phillips Jr., 94, of Aleppo, formerly of Ben Avon and husband of the late Gladys Jones Phillips, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012 in Masonic Village.
Mr. Phillips was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the Pacific Theater as a captain. He was a member of Community Presbyterian Church of Ben Avon.
He is survived by five children, Mark T. Phillips and his wife Rebecca Jane of Los Angeles, CA, Lee A. Phillips and his wife Ronda Kendall of San Antonio, TX, Todd Phillips and his wife Ann H. of Franklin Park, Drew K. Phillips and his wife Anita Kerr of Houston, TX and Janet Phillips Shaffer and her husband Mark of Franklin Park; seven grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Friends were received at McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, Avalon. A memorial service was held in Community Presbyterian Church of Ben Avon on Monday. Memorial contributions are suggested to his church at 7501 Church Ave., Ben Avon, PA 15202 or a favorite charity.

Barbara McGurgan
Barbara H. Paczan McGurgan, 84, of Emsworth, formerly of McKees Rocks, died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012.
Mrs. McGurgan was a 1945 graduate of McKees Rocks High School. She was retired from Kaufmann's department store where she worked in retail and clerical departments for more than 25 years.
She is survived by her husband, Paul V. McGurgan Jr.; three children, Paul Leslie McGurgan and his wife Jodi of Carlsbad, CA, Robert James McGurgan and his wife Colleen of Castle Shannon and Barbara Ellen McGurgan of West View; her sister, Mary Stefanick; two grandchildren, Emily Marie McGurgan and Jaren Chardello; and nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ladislaw and Mari Szvicsu Paczan; and five siblings, Elsie Bartok, John Paczan, Leslie Paczan, Michael Paczan and Ethel Podnar.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in Sacred Heart Church in Emsworth on Thursday. Burial was in Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery. John Howard
John Parris Howard of Avalon died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012.
He is survived by his wife, Patti Mills Howard; two children, Keirstin O'Donnell and Dana Howard; his mother, Mary Margaret Howard; two stepchildren, Jay Grimes and Courtney Rabold; two sisters, Jacqueline Paulson and Marcia Arrigo; and two grandchildren, Ethan Lesterance and Gabrielle Rabold.
A funeral liturgy will be held in the Church of the Assumption on Saturday, March 3, at 10 a.m. Memorials are suggested to Animal Friends. Arrangements were made by Herman Funeral Home.

Albert Costa
Albert B. Costa of Canterbury Place died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012.
Mr. Costa was a retired professor of history at Duquesne University.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Francis and Cynthia Costa.

Theodore Malay Sr.
Theodore T. Malay Sr., husband of the late Dolores Klimko Malay and Betty Floyd Malay, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012.
He is survived by five children, Susan Hribik and her husband Albert, Dr. Mary Beth Malay and her husband John Siebert, Monica Towne and her husband Eric, Joan Pavlovic and her husband Robert and Thomas Malay and his wife Heather; three siblings, Joseph Malay Jr., Mildred and Dorothy Mihalov; and five grandchildren, Katrina, Rachel, Lauren, Zachary and Allison. He was preceded in death by three children, Theodore Jr., Anna Marie and Kathleen; and four siblings, Pauline Ebert, Mary McDonald, Walter Malay and Charles Malay.

Doris Boll
Doris J. Boll died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony "Joe" Boll; three children, Edward Boll and his wife Veronica, Carol Riazzi and her husband Richard and Diane Sopcisak and her husband Jeffrey; and four grandchildren, Joe, Jessica, Rachel and Anna Sopcisak. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Elizabeth Blaha; and her sister, Betty Zimmer.
