Khiry Watts
Khiry Templin Watts, 21, of Ohio Township, died Monday, Jan. 30, 2012.
Mr. Watts was a graduate of Avonworth High School, and played football and track.
He is survived by his parents, Eric V. and Diane Templin; four siblings, Colt, Grant, Brooke, and Amy Templin; biological siblings; and aunts and uncles.
Friends were received at Simons Funeral Home, North Hills. A memorial service will be held in New Community Church today, Friday, at 7 p.m. Contributions are suggested to New Community Church Student Ministry, 3101 Wexford Rd., Wexford, PA 15090 or Three Rivers Adoption, 307 4th Ave., #310, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.

Violet Eicholtz
Violet Eicholtz, 85, of Bellevue, wife of the late Raymond Eicholtz, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2012.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Rachael Eicholtz; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Eicholtz.
There was no visitation. Services were held in Allegheny County Memorial Park Chapel on Tuesday. Arrangements were made by the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon.

Thomas Donat
Thomas L. Donat, 83, of Avalon, husband of the late Pearl Donat, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012.
Mr. Donat was a U.S. Air Force veteran who retired after serving 22 years as a master sergeant during the Korean Conflict. He was a longtime member of VFW Post 2454.
He is survived by three children, Lauren Wherry, Doris Tain and her husband Ron and Wayne Donat and his wife Laurie; two sisters, Margaret Montgomery and Ellen Larash of Allentown, PA; five grandchildren, Chrissy Wherry, Lizzie and Megan Tain, Shane and Heather Donat; and nieces and nephews. He was the brother-in-law of Grace and Dave Bauman of Bellevue; He was preceded in death by five siblings, Mildred Donat, Irene Sesko, John Donat, Florence Pearcy and Charles Donat.
Friends were received at the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon, where services were held on Saturday. Burial was in Allegheny County Memorial Park. Donations are suggested to Disabled American Veterans, 1000 Liberty Ave., Room 1606, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.

Robert Merker
Robert L. Merker, 89, of Ohio Township, husband of the late Mary H. Merker, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012.
Mr. Merker was a 1944 graduate of Penn State University. He attended the University of Maryland for graduate work. He worked as a research chemist for Naval Research Laboratory, Dow Corning Co., the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University. He was credited with many U.S. and international patents and within his field was the author of many professional publications.
He is survived by four children, Robert J. Merker and his wife Susan Kern, Lisa K. Heberling and her husband James, Leslie Jeffries and her husband Paul and Mary Lee Raymond; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services were private. Arrangements were made by Thomas M. Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, Blawnox.

Joan Hazard
Joan Hope Wood Hazard, 83, of Bellevue, wife of the late James Stephen Hazard, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2012.
Mrs. Hazard retired from the North Boroughs YMCA. She was a longtime member of the Church of the Assumption, a foster mother to many children through Catholic Charities, and a member of Suburban General Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by five children, Jan Hazard, James Hazard Jr. and his wife Susan Johnson, Jeffrey Hazard and his wife Karen, Jean Hazard-Ozimek and her husband Greg and Jerald Hazard and his wife April; three siblings, Judith Wood, Linda Tomlin and Paul Wood; five grandchildren, Jill Hazard Matos and her husband Rico, Jeffery Hazard Jr. and his wife Shawnelle, James Hazard III and his wife Courteney, J. Jude Hazard and Jacob Ozimek; seven great-grandchildren; and dear friends, Ginny Barkin, Bill and Janet Kunert and Janet Wagner. She was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Stonfer.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in the Church of the Assumption on Monday. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Norman Phair Jr.
Norman L. Phair Jr., 79, of Kilbuck Township, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012.
Mr. Phair was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He is survived by three children, Dale Phair and his wife Lisa Eyler, Linda Jackson and her husband William "Chip" and Wade Phair and his wife Kami Klinkerman; seven grandchildren, Dairian, Nicholas, Wade Daniel Jr., Matthew, Seneca, Zachary and Ashley; and dear friend, Ruth Skinner. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Senules.
A memorial service was held in Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church, Ohio Township, on Saturday. Arrangements were made by McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, Avalon.
