Deborah Lee Hartwick
Deborah Lee Hartwick, age 57, of Avalon, died Feb. 5, 2015. Loving mother of Michael A. Hartwick and Daniel C. Hightower (Stefanie); dear sister of Louie and John Lamonde and Alvin Clark, adoring grandmother of Keyonna, Michael Jr., “DC”, Dante and Danica; treasured aunt and friend of many.
Memorial service Thursday, Feb. 19, at 3 p.m. in New Life Community Church, 45 N. Fremont Ave., Bellevue, PA. 15202. Arrangements by Ball Funeral Chapel, Inc.

Georgia Augustine
Georgia Marie Dorben Augustine, 77, of Ross Township, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald A. Augustine; two children, Ron Augustine and his wife Tina and Lori Waters and her husband Steve; six siblings, Jo Ann Fialon, Shirley Chapman, David, Thomas, James and Robert Dorben; seven grandchildren, Shannon, Kristen, Ashley, Ronnie, Ryan, Andrew and Kira; and two great-grandchildren, Haydin and Lennox. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Dorben.
Friends were received at the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon, until the time of a blessing service on Friday.

Carol Black
Carol J. Davidson Black, 77, of Brighton Heights, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015.
She is survived by her husband Walter "Ralph" Black; four children, Catherine Tucker and her husband Will of Ovedo, FL, John Black and his wife Fran of Yuma, AZ, Walter "Stan" Black and his wife Heather of Cheswick and Jennifer Black; her daughter-in-law, Nancy Black; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Scott Black.
Friends were received at the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon, where services were held on Saturday.

Catherine Blumer
Catherine Movra Blumer, 95, of Pittsburgh, wife of the late Chester Blumer, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015.
She is survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four siblings, George and Walter Movra, Anna Lindow and Mary Rozman.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in Risen Lord Church on Friday. Burial was in Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery.

Ralph Bertram Sr.
Ralph E. Bertram Sr., 84, of Emsworth, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015.
He is survived by his wife, Edna M. Vetterly Bertram; two sons, Ralph E. Bertram Jr. and his wife Lynn and George L. Bertram and his wife Isabelle of Connecticut; two siblings, James Bertram and his wife Victoria and Kathleen Mullner; five grandchildren, Ashley, Adam, Aaron, Justine and Christina; two great-grandchildren, Abby and J.J.; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Bertram; and his brother-in-law, Frank Mullner.

Mavis Silk
Mavis R. Silk, 94, of Pittsburgh, wife of the late Bradford J. Silk Sr., died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015.
Mrs. Silk was a member of the Pink Ladies, where she volunteered at Passavant Hospital.
She is survived by four children, Susan Silk-Hamilton of Edmond, OK, Bradford J. Silk Jr. and his wife Peggy of Leetsdale, Bonnie Ufert of Kilbuck Township and Douglas W. Silk of Ben Avon; nine grandchildren, Brad III, Robert, Diane, Julie, Jenny, Nancy, John III, Lori Ann and Becky; 14 great-grandchildren; and a niece. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, John Hamilton.
Services and burial were private. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association. Arrangements were made by McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, Avalon.

Mary Schwartz
Mary Schwartz of Avalon died Friday, Feb. 6, 2015.
Ms. Schwartz had worked at Bell Telephone for 50 years.
She is survived by four nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, Karen Mignella, Joseph Mignella and his wife Jen, Lisa Petrovich and her husband John Mark and Michael Mignella and his wife Chris; and other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five siblings, Anna Lukovich, John Schwartz, Michael Schwartz, Frank Schwartz and Katherine Parks.
Friends were received at Devlin Funeral Home, North Hills. Services were held in Forest Avenue Presbyterian Church on Tuesday.

Ralph Batykefer Sr.
Ralph E. Batykefer Sr., 73, of Ohio Township, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015.
Mr. Batykefer was a member of Masonic Lodge #716, a lifetime member and elder at Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church, a former dirt track stock car driver and an avid golfer. He was a "Snowbird" of Pleasant Lake, Bradenton, FL.
He is survived by his wife, Mazie M. Scott Batykefer; three children, Annette Davis and her husband Tom, Ralph E. Batykefer Jr. and his wife Karen of Havre DeGrace, MD and Scott Batykefer and his wife Kathy; two sisters, Dorothy Holman of Dayton, OH and Lois Omslaer of St. Petersburg, FL; six grandchildren, Thomas, Noelle and her husband Zach, Bradley, Molly, Ralph III and Samantha; and his pet, Sunshine. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Batykefer.
Friends were received at Schellhaas and Sons Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Franklin Park. Services were held in Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church on Thursday. Donations are suggested to his church at 1828 Roosevelt Rd., Sewickley, PA 15143.

Raymond Morris
Raymond D. Morris, 87, formerly of Highland Park and husband of the late Frances Morris, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015.
Mr. Morris enjoyed travel, dancing, playing Scrabble and story telling.
He is survived by four children, Elaine Grimes and her husband Joey of Phoenix, AZ, Lynnee Coyner and her husband Lou of Stanton Heights, Sharon Mitchell and her husband Dan of Raleigh, NC and Jan Galbreath and her husband Chris of Bellevue; 10 grandchildren, Joshua, Kevin and Corey Grimes, B.J. and Kelly Hont, Danny Hatzala Jr., Katelyn Mitchell, Crystal Clark, Chris Nachreiner and Cayla Galbreath; and four great-grandchildren, Alden Grimes, Carter Clark, Logan Songer and William Nachreiner.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue. Funeral services will be today, Friday, in Greenstone United Methodist Church in Avalon at 10 a.m.

Marjory Ann Watkins
Marjory Ann Wilkins Watkins, 87, of Emsworth, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2015.
Mrs. Watkins was a volunteer at Meals On Wheels and later taught other seniors about computers. She enjoyed music and especially the Pittsburgh Symphony. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and a founding member of the Emsworth Community Club. She enjoyed swimming in her pool and traveling to the beach.
She is survived by three children, David Alan Watkins, Dianne Friedman and her husband Nick Matko and Linda Ward and her husband Joseph; her sister, Janet Swanson of Santa Barbara, CA; and two grandchildren, Leonard Friedman and Daniel Friedman.
Friends were received at H.P. Brandt Funeral Home, Ross Township. A funeral service will be held today, Friday, in St. James Lutheran Church in Emsworth at 10 a.m. Donations are suggested to her church at 28 Pittsburgh St., Emsworth, PA 15202.

Leona Jones
Leona B. "Pink" Jones of Bellevue, wife of the late Richard Jones Sr., died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015.
She is survived by her son, Richard Jones Jr. and his fiancee Lisa; six siblings, Mary and her husband Raymond, Janet, Diane and her husband Larry, David, Robert and his wife Cheryl and Ted and his wife Lisa; her mother-in-law, Gladys Jones; four grandchildren, Courtney Jones of Charleston, SC, Jade Jones, Tierra Green and Teandra Gardner of Pittsburgh; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Jones.
Friends were received at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Bellevue, where a celebration of life service was held on Thursday. Arrangements were made by the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue.
