Courtney L. (Denniston) Perkins
Courtney L. (Denniston) Perkins, 30, of Ben Avon, died unexpectedly from a rare heart condition, Friday, Dec. 12, 2018.
She is survived by her husband, Jason Perkins; mother of Arelyn, Emerson, and Wailand; daughter of Maureen (Helbling) Denniston and Timothy Denniston; sister of Jeremy Denniston; daughter-in-law of Tina and James McCroskey; sister-in-law of JC McCroskey; also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Before becoming a mother, Courtney assisted with sign language for deaf and autistic children at Pressley Ridge.
Memorial donations are suggested to a fund for her children at Northgate Church.

George W. Woods, Jr.
George W. Woods, Jr, 78, of Avalon died peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018.
He was the husband of M. Lori (Cook) Woods.
George was a member of the Avalon Volunteer Fire Department and retired employee of the Borough of Avalon.
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Margaret Woods, Sr. and one brother. He is also survived by one brother.
As per George's wishes service and interment are private.

Charles G. Maresh
Charles G. Maresh, 67, of Bellevue, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018.
He was the husband of Theresa (Novokoski) Maresh; father of Tracy (John) Putz and Charlene Maresh; grandfather of Nick, Nathin, Abby, Maxwell and the late Alix; brother of Maria Wiegand; longtime dear friend of William "Herkey" Bishop.
Charles was a Vietnam Veteran of the US Army, 101st Airborne Division and retired from the Army Corp of Engineers.

Catherine Ryan
Catherine Ryan, 82, formerly of Avalon, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2018.
She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on April 4, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Michael and Catherine McQuaide Ryan.
Catherine was a Senior Associate in credit and collection for Pittsburgh Corning. She was a member of Assumption Roman Catholic Church and most recently attended Holy Sepulcher Church.
She was the aunt of Kathleen McGraw of Spring Garden, Roseann Ferrara-Love (Paul) of the Northside, and Catherine "Kate" Campbell (Phil) of Cranberry Township; great-aunt of Colin and Connor Campbell; sister of the late Rose McGraw Ferrara, James McGraw, and Michael Ryan.

Sister M. Julia (Ernestine) Jacko
Sister M. Julia Jacko, formerly Sister Ernestine, 98, a member of the School Sisters of St. Francis, United States Province, in her 80th year of Profession, died Dec. 11, 2018, at Mount Assisi Convent in Pittsburgh, PA.
Sister entered the community in 1935 from St. Mark Parish in McKees Rocks, PA, and professed first vows in 1938 in Mount Assisi Convent Chapel, also in Pittsburgh, PA. She received a bachelor's degree in education from Mount Mercy College (now Carlow University). Sister spent many years as an educator in various parish schools in Pennsylvania. In her later years, she ministered in care for the elderly and, upon retirement until the time of her death, was active in prayer ministry at Mount Assisi Convent.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Mary (Ezarik) Jacko; brothers, Edward, Ernest, Joseph, John, Valentine, George and James; and sisters, Ann Pochatko, Agnes Jacko, Margaret Nekos, Matilda Bury and Mary Kascak.
She is survived by two sisters, Sister Frances and Sister Cecilia; her religious community; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
