Richard P. Killmeyer
Richard P. Killmeyer, 92, died Sunday, November 19, 2017, surrounded by family.
He was the husband of the late Claire (Richert) Killmeyer; father of Richard P. Killmeyer Jr. (Denise) Killmeyer, Edward Killmeyer, Susanne Killmeyer, Michael Killmeyer, and Elizabeth (Mark) Thomas, brother of Donald W. (Barbara) Killmeyer, grandfather of Kristin Killmeyer, Brandon Kehr, Eric, Alex, and Taylor Thomas, great grandfather of Brayden Kehr. Uncle to Deacon Tim (Chris) Killmeyer and Wayde Killmeyer.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents Peter J. and Mary Killmeyer of Elliott. A kind, selfless man, Rich lived his life with honor, integrity, and humility, and was a joy to be around.
Richard was part of the first graduating class of North Catholic High School, in 1943, and he was honored to be inducted into The Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic High School Hall of Fame last year.
Serving in the US Army in the Pacific in WWII, he was wounded in Okinawa and received a Purple Heart and the Silver Star for his gallantry. A retired draftsman with J&L Steel/LTV, he was a longtime member and volunteer of the Church of the Assumption. Richard was recognized as a Jefferson Awards Community Champion for his volunteer work as a tutor at Holy Family Institute.
His Catholic faith was an important part of his life. He enjoyed cross-word and jigsaw puzzles, reading, daily walks, Pittsburgh sports, and family get-togethers.
Friends received Friday, November 24th from 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 460 Lincoln Ave., Bellevue, PA 15202.
Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of Assumption on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.

Judith N. Carpenter
Judith N. Carpenter, 76, of Avalon, died Tuesday, November 14, 2017
She was the wife of the late Charles Carpenter; mother of Rachel B. Carpenter; grandmother of Jude, Bethany and Aaliyah; sister of the late Dolores Schepps; dear friend of Kathryn Moody, John Tokar and Judy Rae Yates. Judith was a devoted nurse and also loved animals.

Kenneth Crawford
Kenneth Crawford, 86, of Avalon, died Sunday, November 19, 2017.
He was the husband of 62 years to Veronica (Jester) Crawford; father of Paul (Kim) Crawford, Sue-Ellen (Thomas) Byrne, Alice (Leo, Jr.) Malloy, Tracey (Jeffrey) Eck, Wendy Crawford, and the late Kenneth Keith Crawford and Bruce Edward Crawford; grandfather of Jennifer Crawford, Jessica Crawford, Devin Malloy, Sr., Bethany Johnson, Julia Hubert, Kristie Byrne, Jonathan Crawford, Andrew Eck, Kenneth Byrne, Kevin Crawford, Moriah Eck, and Steven Crawford; also survived by 11 great-grandchildren and the twelfth one on the way; and by many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Lena Crawford; and his brother, Donald Crawford.
Ken was a 50 year member of the International Brotherhood of the Carpenter's Union and a proud US Navy veteran.

Margaret (Seaber) Habel
Margaret (Seaber) Habel, 101, died November 12,
2017, just days shy of her 102nd birthday.
Margaret was a longtime resident of Avalon and moved in 2012 to Maryland. She was the wife of the late Harry Habel; mother of Carol H. (Robert E.) McIlvain; and grandmother of Jeffrey R. McIlvain. She is also survived by nine nieces and nephews.
Margaret was a graduate of Avalon High School, class of 1934, where she played varsity basketball. Prior to her retirement, she worked for 43 years at West View Park, having served as President at the time of the park's closing in 1978.
Services were private and entrusted to the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Inc.

Nadine Leilani “Dee” McDermott
Nadine Leilani “Dee” McDermott, 68, of Kilbuck Township / Ben Avon Heights, died Saturday, November 18, 2017.
She was the daughter of the late Samuel T. and Mary McDermott; wife and companion of Michael S. Ackland; sister of Samuel T. "Ted" McDermott, Jr. She is also survived by two nephews, Charles William McDermott and Samuel T. McDermott III and his wife, Christina; and their children, Orion and Amaya McDermott.
Dee was a graduate of Avalon High School. She spent time in Springfield, VA, where she volunteered her time as a grief counselor. She also then worked for many years for United Airlines in the reservation department.

William F. “Willy” Searight
William F. “Willy” Searight, 70, of Brighton Heights, died Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at his home.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews and many family members and friends. Also survived by his beloved dog, Sadie.
Willy was preceded in death by his parents, Lindley and Johanna Searight; and his brothers, Lindley R. and Ralph J., and his sister, Geraldine M.
Willy was the proud owner of Searight Excavating and Trucking for over 50 years.

Anne M. (Hlebec) Scarborough, 99, of Norristown, PA, formerly of Bellevue, died Monday, November 6, 2017.
She was the wife of the late Charles J. Scarborough, Sr.; mother of Katherine (Ron) Abbott, Chuck (Claire) Scarborough and the late Judy Sabatina; grandmother of Paul Abbott, John Sabatina, Karen Kahler, Mark Sabatina, Travis Scarborough, P.J. Scarborough, Molly McGraw and Libbey Scarborough; sister of Helen Scarborough and the late Mary Birch, Catherine Whalen and Fran Momper; also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
