Marie Marion A. Wehner, 96, of McCandless, formerly of Spring Hill and Avalon, died Friday, Nov. 6, 2015.
Ms. Wehner was retired from US Steel after 44 years of service.
She is survived by her sister, Clara Freel; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John Wehner and Robert Wehner.
A funeral mass was held in St. Ambrose Church, Holy Wisdom Parish, North Side, on Monday. Arrangements were made by Sperling Funeral Home.
Patrick J. McGivern of Reserve Township died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia M. Ranallo; his brother, Robert J. McGivern Jr. and his wife Megan of Emsworth; his grandparents, Robert and Catherine "Marie" Splane Ranallo; three uncles, Robert F. Ranallo and his wife Rita of McCandless, Joseph L. Ranallo of West View and Matthew M. Ranallo and his wife Charlotte of McCandless; cousins; and granduncles and grandaunts and their families.
Friends were received at Schellhaas Funeral Home, West View. Services were private.
Marion Rickard Chubeck, 82, wife of the late Walter Chubeck Sr., died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015.
She is survived by two sons, Walter Chubeck Jr. and George Chubeck; three siblings, Richard Rickard, James Rickard and Dolores Stanik; nine grandchildren, Deana, Cary, Edward, Nicholas, Walter, Kathleen, Jacob, Brian and Alexis; great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Edward "Larry" Sauers and Mark Chubeck; and two siblings, Edward Rickard and Mary Rudolchick.
Friends were received at Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, North Side. A funeral mass was held in Risen Lord Church on Saturday.
Richard Blazek Sr.
Richard Blazek, 93, of the North Side and Avalon, husband of the late Mary Carey Blazek, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015.
Mr. Blazek spent his early years at St. Paul orphanage. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served on the USS Card. He was a member of West View VFW.
He is survived by three children, Patricia Kenny and her husband Chuck of Emsworth, Richard Blazek Jr. and his wife Ellen of Littleton, NC and Ann Seeley and her husband Kim of Troy, PA; his daughter-in-law, Sandy Blazek of San Tan, AZ; nine grandchildren, Kimberly Ballard, Mary Nunez, Andrew Blazek, Maggie Oliver, Molly Kolarik, Katy Kenny, Matthew Blazek, Michael Blazek and Dane Seeley; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, R. Carey Blazek; his parents, Joseph and Magdalena Blazek; five siblings,, Robert Blazek, Joseph Blazek, Mildred Garrity, Betty Houpt and Marie Middleton; and two grandchildren, Lance Cpl. Patrick B. Kenny and Shon Seeley.

Robert John Kitchen, 48, of Bellevue, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2015.
He is survived by his daughter, Catrina Kitchen; his father, John A. Kitchen; three siblings, Janet Wagner, Kenneth Kitchen and Frances Donovan; his former wife, Trisha Kitchen; and 12 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Loretta Kitchen; and two sisters, Jacqueline Waldron and Kathleen Mitchell.
Services were held in Allison Park Church on Friday. Arrangements were made by Elmer L. Herman Funeral Home, Pittsburgh.
Jeanne Kathryn Tuttle Garman, 94, of Pittsburgh, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2015.
Mrs. Garman was a 1939 graduate of Parkersburg High School and attended James Madison University in Harrisburg, VA, West Virginia Wesleyan and Marietta College, OH, where she was a 1943 graduate with a degree in fine arts. She worked as a fashion educator and she taught art in a suburb of Chicago. She then managed the Parkersburg Chamber of Commerce. She was an accomplished jazz pianist and while studying at Madison University, the late band leader, Glenn Miller, proclaimed her one of the school's most accomplished women. She had a pitch perfect alto voice and met her husband in Parkersburg First Methodist Church choir. She enjoyed reading and music and sketching, painting, cooking and knitting.
She is survived by her husband, George Garman of Bellevue; and two daughters, Amanda Wills Willard of Coraopolis and Mariellen Garman Ramsdell and her husband Paul of Wexford. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles E. Sr. and Hazel Furbee Tuttle.

Rita M. Arnold Merzlak, 89, of Brighton Heights, wife of the late Joseph W. Merzlak Sr., died Friday, Nov. 6, 2015 in Little Sisters of the Poor.
Mrs. Merzlak was a 1944 graduate of St. Benedict Academy and worked as a dental assistant to Dr. Zwicker, DMD, and Associates in Millvale. She was a volunteer at and a resident of Little Sisters of the Poor, working at the reception desk and general store.
She is survived by three sons, Joseph W. Merzlak Jr. and Anthony G. Merzlak, both of Pittsburgh, and Paul M. Merzlak and his wife Maureen Regan of Odenton, MD; and two grandsons, Anderson J. Merzlak and Nicholas E. Merzlak, both of Pittsburgh. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Mary Irene Arnold; and her sister, Jane Arnold Dittmar.

Doris R. Vetter Reiner, 78, of Moon Township, formerly of Avalon, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015.
Mrs. Reiner was a member of the Christian Church. She had worked in the office of Braun Bakery and had been a teller at Equibank and National City Bank.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald "Jerry" J. Reiner Jr.; six children, Barbara Maraccini and her husband Walter of Jefferson, GA, JoCarol Reiner of Columbus, OH, Susanne King and her husband Jim of Avalon, Gerald J. Reiner III and his wife Julia of Austin,TX, Diane Purcell and her husband Tom of Avon, OH and Thomas Reiner of Columbus, OH; her sister, Kathryn Porto and her husband Sam of Carnegie; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thorn and Amfield Davis Vetter; and her sister, Caryle Kroll.
Friends were received at Copeland Funeral Home, Moon Township, where services were held on Tuesday. Burial was in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
Frances A. Wilkie O'Keefe, 94, of Avalon, formerly of Brighton Heights and wife of the late Joseph J. O'Keefe and Joseph L. Wilkie, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015.
She is survived by four children, Janice Lynn McKay of Canada, Lorrie Maierhofer of Avalon, Bobbi Howell and her husband Jeff of Pittsburgh and Jimmy O'Keefe of Avalon; six grandchildren, Ian McKay and his wife Ami and Shannon Frios and her husband Manny, all of Canada, Dee Quinn and her husband Mark of Bellevue, Debi Chopp and her husband Brian of Bridgeville, Scott Feth and his wife Diana of New Brighton and Michael Feth and his wife Nancy of Ross Township; a step-grandson, Ian Howell and his wife Alice-Li of San Jose, CA; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four siblings, Bud Fobas, Kitty Estock, Terry Pogue and Daniel Fobas.
There was no visitation and services and burial were private. Arrangements were made by Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home. North Side.
Elizabeth A. "Betty Ann" Newlon, 79, of Avalon died Monday, Nov. 9, 2015.
Ms. Newlon worked in the temporary/permanent placement field. She owned her own personnel firm during the 1980s. She was retired from ALCOSAN in 1994.
She is survived by her son-in-law, David Drakulic of Sterling, VA; and cousins. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Anne Bilec Drakulic; her parents, William and Ellen Nevins Newlon; and her aunt, Margaret Nevins.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue, until a Mass of Christian Burial was held in the Church of the Assumption on Thursday. Burial was in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Vincentian Home, 111 Perrymont Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
