Frederick Randolph
Frederick D. Randolph, 80, of Avalon, formerly of Indiana, PA, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012.
Mr. Randolph was a graduate of California University of PA. He taught industrial arts and drafting at Avonworth High School for 40 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of American Legion Post #0141, VFW Post #1989 and Indiana Franklin Masonic Lodge #0313.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Mazza Randolph; two sons, Frederick R. and David J. Randolph; his sister, Virginia Randolph; two grandchildren, Logan D. and Felicia Marie Randolph; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell E. and Edith A. Randolph; and three siblings, Harry Randolph, Elsie Neely and Betty Jane Sewak.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue and Bence-Mihalcik Funeral Home, Indiana, where services were held on Friday. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery, Indiana.

Beverly Massie-Tyler
Beverly Massie-Tyler of Avalon, formerly of Aliquippa and wife of the late Melvin Gilbert Sr. and Walter Tyler, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2012.
Mrs. Massie-Tyler was a graduate of Aliquippa High School and CCAC School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse at Heritage Valley Sewickley for 25 years, retiring in 2010. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Bellevue.
She is survived by her son, Melvin Brown and his wife GlenRae of Woodbridge, VA; her sister, Darlene Avery and her husband Anthony; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two nephews and a grandnephew, Ronald Brown and Dwayne Reed, all of Avalon; her cousin, Marie Adams of Springfield Gardens, NY; and dear friends, Kevin Cross, Sandra "Cookie" Johnson and Isabel Blue-Norman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Marie Johnson Brown.
Friends were received at the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Avalon, until the time of services on Friday. Burial was private. Donations are suggested to Sewickley Oncology/Hematology Associates, 1600 Coraopolis Heights Rd., Suite F, Moon Twp., PA 15108.

Annette Sobien
Annette Able Sobien, 74, of Ross Township, formerly of Bellevue and wife of the late Francis X. Sobien, died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012.
Mrs. Sobien had worked at Kroger grocery store and after it closed she worked Kuhn's Foods until her retirement. She was a longtime member of the Church of the Assumption. She volunteered at Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Bellevue #655, as financial secretary for several years. She also had been active at Lutheran Senior Center and Silver Sneakers. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and sewing.
She is survived by three children, Maria Faller and her husband Ronald of Ross Township, Charles Sobien and his wife Lori of Latrobe, PA and Frank Sobien and his wife Ailisa of Ross Township; three siblings, Victor Able and his wife Maureen, Vivian Hughes and Pauline Hargreaves and her husband Paul; and five grandchildren, Lucas, Zachary and Nicholas Sobien, Rachel and Mark Faller. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Victor and Elsie Weston Able; her brother, Anthony Able; and her grandson, Christopher Faller.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in the Church of the Assumption on Saturday. George Hartman
George A. Hartman, 90, of Kilbuck Township, died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012.
Mr. Hartman was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, having served as a first lieutenant.
He is survived by two children, Russ Hartman and his wife Lynn Holl and Denise Hartman and her husband David Ruttan; three grandchildren, Julia, Daniel and David Hartman; a dear friend, Donna Faub; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by six siblings, Henry, Bill, Frank and Charles Hartman, Mary Loesch and Evelyn Sussman.
Friends were received at Emmanuel Christian Church, North Side, until the time of services on Saturday. Burial was in Allegheny County Memorial Park. Donations are suggested to his church at P.O. Karin S. Anderson
Karin Sue (Ross) Anderson, 62 of Greensburg, died Feb. 1, 2012. .
She was born in Greensburg, PA, daughter of Ileen C. (Ross) Osterwise and the late William J. Ross. She was a member of Greensburg Salem High School Class of 1967 and worked as a certified nurses aide for Laurel Surgical Center. She enjoyed gardening, reading, planting trees, traveling, outdoors, the beach and and spending time with family and friends.
Besides her father, She was preceded in death by stepfather Clyde Osterwise, stepbrother James Osterwise, stepbrother Bill Osterwise, nephew Jeff Burton, grandparents Fred and Verda Ross and Kenneth and Emma Coleman.
Surviving are her husband, David C. Anderson; mother, Ileen C. (Ross) Osterwise; son, Mark V. Panichella and partner Jack Williams; son, Matthew B. Panichella and wife, Kristen; daughter, Amy J. Panichella; son, Adam J. Anderson; son, Drew D. Anderson; granddaughter, Olivia Louise Panichella; brother, Robert D. (Bob) Ross and wife, Carol; brother, Randy J. Ross and wife, Patti; sister, Beverly J. Joyner and husband Gary; sister, Jill C. Taylor and husband Steve; and also several nieces and nephews.
