Ellen G. (Brahler) Galante
Ellen G. (Brahler) Galante, of Emsworth, died Thursday, October 19, 2017.
She was the wife of the late Salvatore A. "Sam" Galante; mother of Salvatore (Karen) Galante, Louis (Carolyn) Galante and Lorraine (Tony) Pecora; grandmother of Salvatore, Michael, Stephani, Jacquelyn, Louis, Joseph, Steven, Nicholas, Veronica, Rebecca and Dominic; great-grandmother of Jace, Carly and Kelsey; preceded in death by her brothers, Louis and Raymond; and sisters, Johanna and Lorraine.
Ellen was retired from Holy Family, longtime member of Sacred Heart Church and Ladies Auxiliary, as well as various other clubs and community organizations.
Memorial donations are suggested in her memory to Good Samaritan Hospice, 146 Neely School Rd., Wexford, PA 15090.

Alfred L. Marks
Alfred L. Marks, 91, of Avalon, died Thursday, October 19, 2017.
He was the husband of Janice Marks and the late Uldine "Dolly" Marks; father of Michael (Deborah) Marks, Sr., Elaine (David) Gaertner, Judy (Bob) Parrish, Tim (Tammy) Marks, Bill (Linda) Marks; stepfather of Phil (Angie) Ross; father of the late Alfred, Jr., James, Thomas, and David Marks; grandfather of 24 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren; also survived by many family members and friends.
Memorial contributions are suggested in his name to Good Samaritan Hospice or the Holy Family Friary.

Bettie Bates
Bettie Bates, 95, a longtime resident of Avalon, died Tuesday, October 24, 2017.
She was the wife of the late William Bates, Sr.; beloved mother of William (Jacqueline) Bates of Peachtree City, GA and the late Joyce (surviving spouse Richard) Dietz; grandmother of Angela (Mac) McSwain, Rick (Heather) Dietz , Brenda (Geoffrey) Deckelbaum and Gregory (Sally) Bates; also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
Friends received from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017 at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 460 Lincoln Avenue, Bellevue. Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, at the Church of the Assumption, Bellevue.

Joseph Murphy
Joseph Murphy, formerly of Ben Avon, died Thursday, October 19, 2017.
Mr. Murphy was the son of the late Joseph Patrick and Ethel M. Davis Murphy; brother of Patricia Murphy of Harmar Township, Lois M. Lewis (David) of Shaler Township, and the late Betty Lewis, Jack Murphy; also survived by nieces and nephews.
