Elizabeth Black Way, 94, wife of the late Robert E. Way, died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015 in Brevillier Village, Erie, PA.
Mrs. Way was an Avalon High School and Burrough's Business School graduate. She was a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church of Highland.
She is survived by two children, Richard A. Way of Pittsburgh and Nancy B. Way of Harborcreek, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Martha Black; and four siblings, Meldrew Boyle, Agnes Britt, John Black and Robert Black.
A memorial service was held in St. John Lutheran Church on Monday. Memorial contributions are suggested to her church at 311 Cumberland Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15237. Arrangements were made by H.P. Brandt Funeral Home, North Hills.
Lawrence Paladin Sr.
Lawrence G. "Larry" Paladin Sr., 83, of Wilmerding, PA, formerly of Level Green, PA, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015.
Mr. Paladin was a retired bricklayer at US Steel, where he worked at the Edgar Thomson plant in North Braddock and the US Steel research site in Monroeville. He was an avid sportsman and a lifetime member and past president of the Trafford Sportsman Club. He enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, fishing and bowling. He was a charter member of Word and Worship Church. He had been a volunteer in his children's activities including Little League and Boy Scouts.
He is survived by his wife, Sally Evashavik Paladin; four sons, Lawrence G. Paladin Jr. and his wife Phyllis of Penn Hills, Gerald "Jerry" Paladin and his wife Barbara of Indiana, Gary Paladin and his wife Donna of Bellevue and Richard "Rick" Paladin and his wife Natalie of Monroeville; his sister, Catherine "Kitty" Paladin; 17 grandchildren, Larry G. III, Daniel Paladin, Abigail Daniels, Beth Jeffries, Seth Paladin, Emily Finn, Joshua, Caleb, Nathan, Joel, Sam, Savannah, Nicole, Alex, Greg, Kristi and Lexi Paladin; and 19 great-grandchildren, Larry G. IV, Malcolm, Gabriel, Bronwyn, Jackson, Aubrey, Clair, Elliott, Oliver, Jocelyn, Aidan, Riley, Tyler, Carissa, Liberty, Addy, Charlotte, Vaughn and Keagan. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Armenea Paladin and Jane Paladin.
Friends were received at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home, Turtle Creek/Monroeville Chapel, where services were held on Monday. Burial was in Good Shepherd Cemetery.
Julie Ann Dougherty
Julie Ann Dougherty, 58, of Bellevue, died Friday, Oct. 16, 2015.
Mrs. Dougherty worked at Pristine Pines.
She is survived by her son, Clifford Dougherty; four siblings, Janet Schnelbach, Karen Adams, Karl Blackstock and Kathy Blackstock; her aunt, Vivian Blackstock; and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Kathleen Musko Blackstock; and her brother, John Blackstock.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue, until the time of services on Monday.
Virginia L. Linhart, 58, of Allison Park, formerly of North Side, died Friday, Oct. 16, 2015.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Ann Thaner Linhart; five siblings, Charles, Richard, Mary Ann, William J. and his wife Helen and Alfred Paul Linhart; five nieces and nephews, Charles and his wife Cari, Bridgett and her husband Bill, Maggie, William and his wife Lauren and Patrick; two aunts and their families, Marcella Legethoff and Mercedes Rafferty; and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred S. Linhart.
There was no visitation. A funeral mass was held in St. Cyril of Alexandria Church on Tuesday. Arrangements were made by Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, North Side.
Charles S. "Chuck" Sanfilippo, 47, of Bellevue, died Friday, Oct. 16, 2015.
Mr. Sanfilippo had been a special education teacher at St. Peter Child Development and the Pittsburgh Public Schools. He most recently worked at Bel-Aire Foods.
He is survived by his parents, Charles J. and Linda Sanfilippo; four siblings, Jennifer Neils and her husband Tim, Michael Sanfilippo and his wife Elaine, James Sanfilippo and his wife Whitney Hughes and Angela Sanfilippo; and nine nieces and nephews.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held today, Friday, in Sacred Heart Church, Emsworth at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
Michael J. Sobehart, 45, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015.
Mr. Sobehart was a Temple University graduate and had taught in Philadelphia as a kindergarten teacher. He most recently was employed with P.A.A. as a professional educator.
He is survived by his wife, Penny Lafaber Sobehart; his parents, Joseph A. and Dr. Helen C. Zaremski Sobehart; his brother, Andy Sobehart; his godson and nephew,, Ulrich Sobehart; four aunts, Joan Whitla and her husband John, Jane Sibenac and her husband Joseph, Ann Patterson and Sharon Brucker and her husband Bruce; his mother-in-law, Ruth Fischer Lafaber; and his brother-in-law, Donald R. Lafaber and his wife Judy. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonard and Helen Zaremski and Bill and Hilda Sobehart Foster; and his uncle-in-law, Patrick Patterson.
