Joseph Zimmer
Joseph Zimmer, 66, of the North Side, died Monday, October 8, 2018.
He was the son of the late Harold S. and Mary W. (Moore) Zimmer; brother of Robert Zimmer, Janice Zimmer, and Jane (Michael) Braunlich of Bellevue, Tammy (Terry) Bowman of Jackson Township and the late Harold A. "Tony", James and William "Rick" Zimmer; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Joe was employed as a custodian for many years in the North Boros and the North Side. He had two loves, fishing and gardening.

Sylvia A. (Kushner) Lewan-Meta
Sylvia A. (Kushner) Lewan-Meta, 82, of Avalon, died Wednesday, October 10, 2018.
She was the wife of the late Robert Meta and the late Walter Lewan; mother of Steven Lewan, his wife Jacki; grandmother of Amanda Lewan, James Barum and Brianna Barum; sister of Robert Kushner, his wife Shirley and the late Joan Clark, her husband the late Fred Clark; aunt of Gary Clark, Richard Clark, Christine Kushner Pawlak and the late Bob Kushner.
Sylvia loved unconditionally and her generosity knew no bounds. She was a fierce political partisan who carried her voter registration card in her wallet showing her to be a proud Democrat since 1964. Sylvia loved watching political shows and her comments were hilarious and insightful.
She lived her life without pretense and having grown up in the Monongahela Valley, she could wield a spade or a snow shovel as well as any man and often did. She never went to college but her children did. She never flew on an airplane or visited other countries but her children did. She never played a musical instrument but her children did. She taught her children to seize the day and make a difference in someone else’s life.
As per Sylvia’s wishes service and interment are private.

Irene M. Kittan
Irene M. Kittan, of Avalon, died Wednesday, October 10, 2018.
She was the sister of Theresa Fitzurka, Julia (the late Thomas) Zon and the late Mary (the late Edward) Drexler; also survived by nieces and nephews.
Irene enjoyed her years working at the former Kaufmann’s Department Store in Downtown Pittsburgh. She also enjoyed dining out and shopping.
As per Irene’s wishes, services and interment are private.

Patricia M. Conroy
Patricia M. Conroy, 83, of Bellevue, died Sunday, October 14, 2018.
She was the wife of the late Paul Regis Conroy Sr.; mother of Donna (William) LaLonde, Martin Conroy, Paul "Rege" (Suzanne) Conroy, Kathleen (Thomas) Earles, Lawrence (Angela) Conroy, Robert (Tina) Conroy, and Eileen (Regis) Maiette; grandma of 10 grandsons and five granddaughters; and great-grandma of two. She is also survived by her brother, John Synan, sister, Elizabeth Seltzer, brother, William (Evelyn) Synan, the late Dorothy Monyak, and Katherine Popeck.

Richard M. Brooks
Richard M. Brooks, 84, of Kilbuck Township, died Wednesday, October 10, 2018.
He was father to Rich (Donna) and Ron (Lynda); and grandfather to Richard, Dayna and David. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Inez (Knoblet) Brooks; his wife, Nancy, who passed away in 2013; and four brothers and one sister.
Richard loved his family dearly and selflessly, especially his late wife Nancy. He enjoyed watching Penguins hockey and his model A antique car, Old Yeller.

Rose Marie Moses
Rose Marie Moses, 77, of Avalon, formerly of the Hill District, died Saturday October 13, 2018.
She was the mother of Kathy (Jeff) Clark, Bill (Tammi) Gerboc and Jennifer (Mike) Wintermantel; grandmother of Alyssa (David) Lopus, Alex Clark, William Gerboc, III, Bryce Gerboc, Jessica (Josh) Manns, and Christin Wintermantel; great-grandmother of Chloe, Liam and Everly; sister of Sr. Mary Ann Moses, RSM, Joseph Moses and the late Alex Moses.
Rose Marie worked as a ticketing agent with U.S. Airways. She was devoted to her family, who were her loves and her life.
